Dolphins vs. Lions on Thanksgiving

Hey guys, I am Judge Smails and I run http://www.lions-fans.com.

We would love to have you guys over for some light hearted banter and some Q&A for the game.

Some idle thoughts on my end:

1. Part of me would love to see Joey Harrington come back to Detroit in a sea of boos and kick the Lions in the proverbial nuts. He was treated like garbage here and it's funny to see him now with a top flight defense behind him.

2. We are really banged up. Kevin Jones went down with an ankle Sunday, so who knows if he will be back. We will be getting Shaun Rogers back however from his 4-game suspension.

3. Our defense is horrible. If you have any Dolphin players on your FFL, start them all and bet the over.

Hope to talk with you guys up to the game,

Looking forward to seeing if R Brown can get loose this week. I dont really know much about the Lions, the defense, offense etc.

The defense is terrible. Seriously.
They try to run a Tampa Cover-2, but they don't know how.
Every team they plays runs all over them.

Our offense was decent for a few games, but they have disappeared. Teams have figured out that if you double team Roy Williams and stack the line against Kevin Jones, the Lions have no other options.

It should be a field day for you guys considering your D is one of the best in the NFL.

i like the class judge smalls comes in here with. I know it is hard being a lions fan, probably harder than being a fin fan lately. You comments about Joey were right on, and i felt that way before he became a fin. welcome aboard.

Much appreciated. I don't think you will find a smack-talking Lions fan anymore, most of us hate on our team 10 times worse than any opposing fans could. We try to convince ourselves week to week why we are still even fans.

Don't get me wrong RE: Joey, I truly believe that he could never be the guy in Detroit to carry a team on his back and put up huge numbers. He is always good for 2 INTs per game. But he seems like he is doing just enough to win, while your defense is actually winning the games (correct me if I'm wrong).

That does about sum it up. However, he does seem like he is doing a good job being a leader. I didnt get to see him too much in Detroit so I dont know if that is what he did there, but here he does it well.

Welcome to finheaven brozzy.

The last thing he was in Detroit was a leader. We called him Joey Blue Skies because even when things looked as bad as the Lions/Cards game yesterday, he wouldn't take any blame and he would talk about how great some play went.

Especially in a blue collar town like Detroit, they don't want to see their QB playing piano and eating caviar, we want/need a Favre-type. This town has taken to Kitna because he is a tough SOB.

It seems like Joey is more in his element and definately has better coaching around him.

Joey is a serviceable QB in the league. I don't know that he'll ever be an all-star QB, but if he stays within himself and keep from getting rattled, he makes a decent play at QB. Problem with what happened with him up in Detroit was that they expected him to save the team and that was way too much pressure for him to handle and doesn't fit into his style very well. He's in a much better place now and will do well for us the rest of the year. Next year will be interesting to see how Culpeper comes back and if there will be any sort of QB controversy.

Detroit has some potential, but you guys have to get rid of Millen, he's killed you guys like Wanny and Spielman killed us. He's made some really bad decisions for too many years in a row and if you get rid of him, it will take about 3-4 years to get your team into shape to contend, once you get some other players besides a WR in the draft.

It should be a good game as Detroit always plays tough at home on Thanksgiving.

The sad part is, we need a WR now! Our 3rd WR is Corey Bradford who we just signed off waivers. Mike Williams has been inactive all year because he practices for poop.

And to think we could have had Merriman or Demarcus Ware...I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or punch myself in the hoo-hoo.

I honestly don't think there is any potential there anymore. I hope they gut 1/2 the team and build a team around trench players and not skill guys.

Dont forget, we cut Bradford earlier this year and then resigned him last week! Honestly the Dolphins shouldnt have a problem kicking the Lions around the field, simply because the team is devoid of talent from the Millen regime. Sad to say part of me is hoping you guys demolish the Lions, it might push Millen out the door (very unlikely but I can hope). Im glad to see Joey is of some use to some team around the league after how the Lions misused him.

Agreed, embarassing Millen on national television should be priority #1 for the Lions right now.

Sad but true.
