From the outset there is no doubt that Dom Capers is not the most attractive candidate. But if you take a look deeper into what we need right now I think he is the guy. Dom has always been well liked by his players and in this specific case he is well liked by JT, Zach, and Crowder who have all spoken on his behalf. Right now more than ever we need a guy who can unify this locker room and Dom has that power. Plus we keep his defense in place. There is no need to change up our defensive strategy is was very effective, we just need better personnel in the secondary. An brilliantly minded offensive head coach is overrated. All we need is a really good OC, I say we try to get an old guard guy who isn't a hot coach candidate in the coming years so that we can get a steady system in place. If Indy loses this weekend what will the future for that coaching staff hold? Could we bring in Tom Moore? All speculation, but if we look around the league we may find the right fit. It's about building a system on offense, bringing in a players coach, and drafting a lot better. The latter brings me to the next point. It is time to name Randy Mueller GM and give him full control of personnel decisions.

.....no, Id shoot my self if we hired Dom, lol. We should just keep at D coordinater if he would like to stay. IF a good coordinater is avalible and were lucky enough to get one, he'd likely be gone quick, because good coordinaters get head coaching positions very fast in the NFL. Capers has failed twice at the head coaching position, I think we need some fresh blood.

It would look pretty stupid for Wayne to have interviewed 12 other guys only to promote his current assistent head coach in the end. Wayne has his guy in mind i believe, and if it were capers, he'd already be the HC by now.

Not true. I think Wayne is going to pick the guy that best suits the team. He doesn't know who that is (or at least didn't). He could come to find that it was Capers all along. I wouldn't see anything wrong with that because Wayne explored all other options before deciding.

So why hasn't it happened? We could have hired Capers all along. No, i think waynes got different plans.

Pete Carroll Plans to be exact.

I dont want Carroll, but i really think Wayne does...

Apparently, you don't remember when they were searching for a GM during Wanny's reain of terror. They ultimately ended up "promoting" Rick Speilman" to that position.

I like Capers, but I hope you're right. I prefer Wissenhunt, or an offensive guy.

The reality though, is that the NFL now fines teams if they don't interview minorities. Also, they might be getting files on those guys for the future, or to get inside info on teams, players or other coaches.

Wayne would look REALLY stupid if he just handed the job to Capers and then the fins lost more games next year. I doubt he will do it because that is basically the exact same thign he did when JJ left, and it didn't work out then either....

And look how well that worked out...

They have to do some of these interviews. The NFL has written and unwritten rules. All people are made in the image of God. These people who make it a point to draw lines of distinction are the problem. We are the USA, We are one people who stand for freedom, justice and fairness for all; stop the stupid political correctness.

If we were just filling the quota for the league then why interview so many? And more importantly, we interviewd more then one minority candidate. We're not just interviewing thse guys cause we have to.

Dom Capers was a failure at two previous stops as head coach so why in the heck would we want him????

If he was to be hired, could there at least be a stipulation in his contract that he has to wear a hat at all times?
