No surprise on Parker

We have placed S Don Jones and WR DeVante Parker on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.

We have also placed tight end Gerell Robinson on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.

Despite his being on PUP, the Dolphins expect WR DeVante Parker to be available for the regular-season opener.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that puts them out for a maximum 6 weeks into the season, and they don't take up a roster spot correct?

Not surprised. Also not worried...he can be taken off the list at any time. Let's hope he's back asap we need all the weapons we can get.

I was not a fan of the Parker pick and think he will be way behind the curve when he returns.

Not overly worried.

Didn't Beckham miss the start of the season? And Parker isn't even expected to miss games, at this point

Odell Beckham Jr. didn't play until 10/5 last season and put up crazy numbers. Parker will be just fine, if not better for not taking the extra hits.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Parker taken off pup around the third preseason game.

Agent James Gould to me on 1st-round Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker starting camp on PUP: "Very expected. I expected it. I’m not surprised by it...The goal is for him to come off of PUP for the regular season so that he's ready for the regular season. All of the tests and everything that's being done have been perfect. Everything is progressing the way we expected it to progress. There is no reason to expect him not be ready for the first regular season game.”
I would be shocked if he is not ready for the first regular season game."

That is perfectly fine, Parker was not going to see any pre-season anyway, and Don Jones will be needed healthy if he make the team to be on special teams.

As much as I am excited about Parker (never been this excited about a player and his posible potential), I hope they play him sparingly the 1st few weeks, allow him to adjust to the speed in the NFL.

Parker seems to have huge heart, and will go all out and do whatever it takes to win, even while being unfamiliar with the NFL and it's talent level, that could get him hurt...just use him more then anything in the redzone, and bring him slowly week to week.

The kid is going to be special for a long career, no need to force him out there against teams in the 1st two weeks that Miami can beat without him, no need risking him getting injured.
