Don Shula is astounded by Joey Porter's demands that the Miami Dolphins either trade him or play him and thinks the linebacker should never have publicized his dispute with the team.
"The Joey Porter thing, I think that's just outrageous with him coming out like that," Shula told The Palm Beach Post Wednesday. "He obviously wants out. I'm sure he'll be accommodated."

I think Porter's Dolphin career will be doneski soon enough. Porter is merely accelerating that process.
 
If Shula is outspoken about Porter (in the negative), you can very well nail down porter's coffin with thick, long nails. He is gone for sure if Shula complains.
 
Porter was done here before he ever opened his mouth. He just didn't want it to look like the reason he was cut was because hes getting old and his skills have diminished. He's overpayed, runs his mouth, sucks in run support, and is due a million dollar bonus. NO way we would keep him even if he wanted to stay.
 
Joey Porter couldn't carry Don Shula's jock strap.
Don Shula's has forgotten more about football then JP ever knew.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

This guy wants a new contract at some point and I'm sure he doesn't want to play for the veteran minimum when this contract is up. It's a joke that Football players do these types of things, but it happens.
 
in that article nate jones was defending porter like a superfan. polite was sticking up for him too. i know guys like to defend their buds but now is not the time to be standing behind joey, especially if you are up on the chopping block, nate jones.
 
IMO, Porter was always a jackass in Pittsburgh. The only thing that changed was Cam & Mueller went out and landed him in FA, making him our jackass. He *was* a player with considerable skills, but he was always rotten fruit and now we're getting a good whiff. Bye Joey.
 
Of course Shula is pi**ed... He comes from an era when men were men... Played for love of the game... Did their talking with their play and on the scoreboard... Played through pain, and also took themselves out because the team was first... Never disparaged teammates or the franchise that signed their checks...

Everything Joey Porter is the antithesis of.
 
Well I guess I was right all along about Mr Porter. He has always been about promoting Joey. Pitt cut him because they knew he was going to act the same way in a contract year and did not want his poison.
