did anyone see Shula at the game? im sure Saban was probabaly a tad bit nervous knowing that he has some big shoes to fill. The rich history and tradition that Shula had with the Fins.

Yeah ........... I am sure he was. Wouldnt it be nice if Shula and marino owned the team? Name the Stadium------Shula Stadium :)

welcome Joe, I like your mugsh....err...avatar.

i think it would be very generous of Wayne to change the name to either one, they both did a lot for the organization, not that only both of them did all the work, but i think those are the two names that really stand out

Saban has no shoes to fill, it's been a decade since Shula was Miami's coach and 2 decades since your last SB apperance and over 3 decades since your last Championship.

trust me there isn't much that makes Nick nervous on the football field.

I was listening to the game on Sirius and Shula was up in the radio booth for a little while during the game. Shula told them that he really liked coach Saban and Wayne H. made the right choice. The radio anouncers ( I think it is Joe Rose and I forget the other one) told him that there are alot of people saying he is just like a young Don Shula.

I guess that depends on perspective.
To you and other non-Dolphin observers, I guess not.

To the Dolphin faithful, yes he does. Don Shula's legacy will always cast a shadow over new coaches for those of us who lived through his tenure. I'm sure Green Bay fans would tell you the same thing about Lombardi.

I think Saban could of cared less about something that he can't change. He's much more intelligent then to think that Shula there should affect the way he coaches.

Saban is his own man, and his own coach. And if he wants to do his best and make the team the best it can be, worrying about past players and coaches is best left to the college ranks.

However, I'm sure that he felt honored by Shula's presence. But I'm also sure that Saban has more sense then that.

BTW....Marino Field at Shula Stadium does have a really nice ring to it.

The packers suffered through 20+ years of mediocruty after Lombardi left and when Lombardi was there they were always competing for Championships. Shula's last decade he did not come close to a Championship and the guys that took over kept them as competitive as the final decade Shula was there so it's different than GB and Lombardi.

Do a little research before you spew off at the mouth! He came VERY close to a SB Championship game by reaching the AFC Finlas! Go troll on some other board!
