Another Injury For Donald Thomas

Posted by Mike Florio on May 19, 2009, 10:58 a.m.
Though the 2008 featured incredibly good player health for the Miami Dolphins, starting guard Donald Thomas missed 15 games with a Lisfranc injury in his foot.
According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Thomas suffered a torn pectoral muscle during a recent workout.
Thomas is expected to miss most if not all of training camp, but he also is expected to be back for the start of the 2009 regular season.

I cannot deny that I am disappointed but I also find it a bit humorous because he's one of those guys, along with Cameron Wake, that a large majority of people had already foolishly penciled in as a starter/success.

Donald Thomas injured, again

According to Scout.com "Miami Dolphins RG Donald Thomas suffered a torn pectoral muscle during a recent workout."

Here officially starts the 2009 revolving door at the OL.

Apparently he is not praticing druing OTA's.............

I had the temerity to suggest that the interior line had major, major health concerns going into the season. I got drug over hot coals for it (Not that I'm not used to it). Hm. Shocker...An injury....To an interior lineman. Hm. Absolutely friggin stunning.

Now, he'll be ready to go by the regular season, supposedly, but to miss all of TC is not the best way for a key piece of the O-Line to start.

The only heartening thing is it's PFT that's reporting it.

ETA: Scouts .com......Oh well.

Is it wrong to hope our players turn out to be everything the FO believes they are...No! Is it wrong to be happy that one of our own is injured...Yes!

Well what conclusion would you think the fan base would come to when, last year, the coaching staff penciled him as the starter as well?:err:

Please don't let this fella be another Joe Toledo

What's wrong is to put on blinders to the reality of a positional situation and call those who have differing views and concerns not real fans. I was told I should go mod at a Patriots board during one discussion about the offensive line where I brought up the extensive injury history of our interior line and, how we have NOTHING to stop the bleeding if someone goes down. Nduke is the best backup we have, and, he holds the distinction of being victim of one of the most embarassing things I've seen on the football field recently when Ngata shot putted him into Ronnie Brown during the playoff game.

And this is why you keep Satele as insurance.

Seems to me they brought in insurance.

This is from a live update;

OG Donald Thomas left the bubble after stretching. Doesn't appear he's working with the line.

If he was injured....would he be stretching?

As long as he's not stretching a torn pectoral. People do strenuous stretching and, more all the time when injured. It's called Physical Therapy. Stretching and going through drills are quite remarkably different.

Splendid. Well, at least it's just a torn pectoral and not another foot or knee injury.

Exactly. At LEAST it's just a torn pec and not the same foot again. THAT would suck. At the most positive, maybe this stops him from pushing too hard to come back from the foot thing and gives it more opportunity to heal. I dunno...Just trying to see the positive.
