Although a bit light at 227 pounds, Donnie Edwards could be a fit for a 3-4 team looking for a veteran presence, such as the Patriots. One wrinkle to keep in mind is that Edwards is represented by Tom Condon, with whom the Patriots haven't had contract talks since tight end Benjamin Watson's holdout in 2004.

Not only would he come cheap, Donnie and Zach would be awesome in the middle with Crowder moving to the strong and JT playing the hybrid end......

i was thinking the same thing when i was watching the nfl network.

he has to be a 3-4 olb though, i dont know if he has the size to take spragans spot.

think about him at mbl with zach in a 3-4? that would be sweet.

he cant play olb and we arnt always in the 3-4 so it would not work out for us, I hope he goes to like san francisco dont want to seem him in New England lol.

He is too old. The Dolphins need to get younger.

I agree.... I think he's over rated too. I'd love to see us trade down and pick up PSU linebacker Paul Posluzny for OLB. Get more pics and don't have to the BIG money to the #9 overall pick.

I'm with you on that. Pos seems to be of the Zach Thomas and Urlacher mold. Very smart and leaders of their Defense. Pos is also very versatile, it took him only 3 games this seaosn to get acclimated to his new role of MLB, and he kept playing well. Quick athlete and has good size.

for a overrated guy he led the chargers for 5 yrs as their leading tackler.

i agree that we shouldnt let him fall within our division. he does seem to be a team player and fit into the 3-4 nicely, but I think we need to go younger and focus on other positions that have more immediate needs.

I love Donnie Edwards but I see no compelling reason to put him in Miami to replace Channing Crowder.

It doesn't matter that Crowder would be moving to SLB, because he can't be the player he is at that spot.

Grabbing Donnie Edwards is virtually a one-for-one attempt to upgrade on Crowder. Why do it? I see no reason.
