Just saw on ESPNNews the Jets will not keep Henderson as DC, and The Chiefs are keeping Cunningham.

If we can't get Capers, why not get Henderson?

that will be a good addition...mangini is a dumb little boy

Why, because Donnie was a one hit wonder??? Our D was ripped up this year, even though Abraham, Vilma, and LAw stayed healthy all year..

If you guys get Henderson, get ready for teams to tear apart the middle of the field with that ****ty cover 2 scheme.

BTW, if Henderson was so good, why is it no other team wants him??

okay...
I don't think he's a one hit wonder. You might want to be a little more concerned about D. Robertson not having a place in LiL Man's scheme.

And what about Vilma?

He brings up a good point. As someone who lives in northern NJ and saw a good part of many Jet games, I thought their defense really underperformed. I was expecting a possible top-5 unit before the season started, and it really can't be blamed on injuries.

This is from an article before this past season:

"Defensive scheme
The defense went through a bit of a renaissance last year under first-year coordinator Donnie Henderson. Henderson utilizes a variety of blitz packages and man-on-man coverages in his aggressive defensive scheme. He is also not afraid to get in his players faces. He had confrontations with just about every member of his unit last year, but you cannot deny the results. The Jets were seventh in the NFL in total defense (fifth in the AFC)."

He's an aggressive DC. Personnel-wise the jests were a lost cause coming into the 05 season. The cover-2 is herm's background which was obviously forced on Donnie. Hmmm a head coach refusing to allow his coordinators to coach what they know best? Now where have we seen that before? :fire:
Anyway, I think Donnie would be a good addition for us.

PhinGeneral where do u live, im at college now but my family lives in northern NJ

It doesn't matter who our DC is!!!!

It's Saban's defense! Will Muschamp is more than qualified to help Saban run the D. (Capers would be nice though.)

Our main focus needs to be getting a very good Offensive Coordinator.

Agreed. I'm not worried about who our DC is because Saban is pretty much running the defense anyway, while Muschamp is calling the plays. Our only concern right is bringing in a smart offensive minded coach to be our OC. I'm still praying for Baggett to be promoted and I hope he will be getting that promotion real soon.

This is why you do not want him...If his schemes and philosophy are different than Sabans, why hire him?

Why are we talking about this?
We have 2 separate DC's and Saban also helps out. We don't need DC's, what we need is an offensive co-ordinator.
Saban & co. are doing great with the defense there isn't a need to bring in someone else who isn't familiar with Saban's system.

Over the past few years the Phins have had a great D... Your focus as a team should be building on a good offense..jmho

Why is everyone looking to upgrade at DC or in the defensive area? We have an opening at OC, that is what we should worry about. Everyone talks about how, oh Saban helped the offense so much. Well, hey got news for you Dolfans, Saban helped the defense more than any side of the ball, so why would you want to upgrade the defense? Understand what I'm saying?

Saban runs a completely different scheme than the cover 2 that Henderson is best at. We don't have the safeties to run that scheme anyways. At any rate, I'd stand pat rather than add Henderson mainly because of the difference in philosophies from Saban...
