''We're going to go up there and give them a turkey,'' Jones shouted to his approving teammates. ``The only turkey they're going to get is the one we're going to deep fry and shove up their . . . [butt]. We're going up there and [expletive] whup their [butt]."

You gotta love it when the punter is out there talking smack, this whole team has changed attitudes since the Bears game.....Lets just hopes it continues....

LOL. If you know Donnie's history with LSU, he use to do that on a weekly basis...give the team a theme for the game.

I love it.

The only problem is that if that ends up on Detroit's bulletin board there's gonna be a lot of laughter among their players with that coming from our PUNTER and all....

Maybe it's just me, but Jones was absolutely horrible on Sunday in my opinion. He couldn't kick inside the 20, and honestly his "wobbly punts" haven't really paid off in the turnover department for us either. I'd rather have a guy who can put it inside the red zone, than kick an ugly short one.....

I'm not saying I want to get rid of him, but he's really not that good of a kicker in my opinion....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I think it's just you

seriously... Sunday may not have been his best game... but so far this season he has 17 inside the 20 (tied for 7th in AFC) out of 51 total punts. (33%)
of those who have at least 17 inside the 20 (AFC Only)....

Brain Moorman - 21 out of 57 inside the 20 (36%)
Craig Hentrich - 21 out of 63 (33%)
Kyle Larson - 20 out of 52 (38%)
Mike Scifris - 19 out of 36 (52% Wow!)
Ben Graham - 18 out of 47 (38%)
Sam Koch - 18 out of 56 (32%)
Shane Lechler - 17 out of 56 (30%) (who incidentally has "missed" and given a touchback 13 times, compared to Donnie's 5)

Granted a lot depends on field position... but you can see he's in pretty good company, and even averages out as good or better than many of the top 7.

IMO he does a good job of putting the ball as far away from our endzone as he can most of the time.

I don't think Blitzkrieg is wrong.

Donnie Jones did not have a good day this Sunday. He hit line drives that gave the other team opportunities for big returns...and this against a team that has been known to basically win entire games with scores from STs and Defense.

He had a bad game, but usually we neutralize the other teams return game, not everyone can play great all the time, not even the punter

I did qualify my post by saying that it wasn't his best day sunday...
however, to say he's "not that good" overall is not supported by stats.
