I'm not sure if this has been asked before, and if it has I'm sorry.

I was looking through some players stats and noticed that Spragan played in '99 for the Saints, then his next year playing was '02 with the Broncos. Does anyone know why? Was he injured and decided to take some time off to rehabilitate? He recorded no stats with the Saints and it's possible that no one was demanding his services, but then why after a few seasons would someone want him?

CAREER TRANSACTIONS
Signed a two-year contract with the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent from Denver on March 11, 2005 ... Originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans in 1999 ... Spent the entire ’99 season on injured reserve ... Was waived by the Saints on August 22, 2000 ... Went to camp with Green Bay in 2001 and was released by the Packers on September 1, 2001 ... Signed to Cleveland’s practice squad on October 2, 2001 before being released on October 31 ... Was signed to Denver’s practice squad on December 11, 2001.

I found this. It looks like he bounced around on some practice squads until finally getting a chance in Denver.

I had completely forgotten we had resigned Spragan. The guy will defitnetly be a good-backup and he plays ST lights out. I really was happy to see him get resigned and can wait to see him contribute. Its no secret Capers really likes him and he will defitnetly see some snaps this year..

Yes I agree and it is good to have a little veteran depth in at least one position which is LB. It is the only position at this point I see as improved until we get a chance to see how some of these rookies and second year players can play

Talking about special teams, I know Scheslinger and Muaia will play ST this season can you Imagine the holes Ginn is gonna have open with those too leading the way....

Dont forget about Pope everytime this guy gets a chance he makes a play. Kinda reminds of Yeremiah Bell, but at LB instead of S.

Was one of the best signings this offseason . . . because we had literally no depth @ OLB . . . hell that was our problem last year . . . we had a backup playing a critical starting role on our defense. Spragan knows the defense and can fill in w/ no hesitiation if JP goes down . . . w/ drafting Smith in the draft and the solid play of Pope still on this team . . . we have better depth @ LB, especially better than last year.

It means nothing if they carry only 6 or 7 LBs!!
