Don’t drink the kool-aid

I’m a die hard Miami Dolphin fan but things I’ve seen so far this season have my thinking we are all in for a long long season. First off, our best running back Ricky Williams is gone. Saban’s inability to get this guy focused and under control will cost us for years. It was clear we had a Super Bowl caliber running back and Saban seemed more interested in drafting a split carry RB from Auburn and giving him 20% of our salary cap. Secondly, this business with Sammy Smith is concerning for two reasons, 1) it’s yet ANOTHER drug issue with a player and 2) with Ronnie Brown being a split carry guy his entire career, we needed Sammy to pick up the slack. The last issue that has me concerned is Dante Culpepper. I mean, he needs every snap he can get and he sits out the game last night? Is he hurt or is Saban getting Cleo ready to start? Seriously, I think Lemon is our best QB anyway (look at the stats). Is Saban just now figuring this out himself?

I'm not trying to stir the pot here but with all the accolades being heaped on our fins, I'm just worried the picture's not as pretty as they would have us believe. We have some serious issues to deal with before we can assume the East is ours to lose.

Go Fins!

Sammy Smith? Isnt he in jail or something?

No offense but I think you need to see a doctor. Lemon stats were impressive against subpar talent. I think it's smart to sit your starters in a meaningless game. Why risk injury ? I think our offense is going awesome compared the post Marino offenses we've recently been accustomed to. We dont have to beat you on the ground anymore.

Not sure why I'm even responding to this post, but you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Whether or not the Phins will be a playoff team is up for debate, however, Cleo Lemon is a 3rd string project. You do realize he is playing against 3rd and 4th string players, most of which will not be on NFL rosters?

The accolades come from people seeing the obvious when coming from a 4-12 team to a 9-7 team with Gus Frerrote as our QB to now having 3 QB's who can play and stars at evey position minus the DB's (who are not bad like some would have us believe) and the OL. There is every reason for optimism when we have a coach like Saban and a staff that gets it and is always looking to upgrade our team, which he has done so succesfully to this point. Im sure soon enough, we will hear of some more moves in our direction.

Wow...what a first post.

Sorry, I meant Sammy Morris.

I agree the offense could be better than it's been. But the key word is "could". Ronnie Brown "could" be a good running back or he "could" falter as he's used to being a split carry back. Dante Culpepper "could" be good but the guy needs snaps to improve. He's been out of football for so long he can't improve on the sidelines. I just hope his knee isn't messed up after the preseason because I honestly don't see why you'd bench him when he's been out an entire year.

Roth is looking like a freak. This is one guy who could lead our defense. The guy's a monster and never stops. I think he'll be in the pro-bowl in the next year or two. Very impressive player.

Go Fins!!

I don't think you want to play your starter much but it woudl have been nice to see Culpepper play a series. Sammy Smith..a blast from the past!

Dude, you have so many misconceptions, I don't know where to begin....

You don't understand the value of Ronnie Brown
You don't understand Ricky's latest violation (and wrongly blame Saban for it)
You don't understand that C-pep is our best QB of preseason (not Cleo)
You don't understand that NFL teams always play backups (Cleo) the 4th game
You don't understand Sammy Morris' drug violation isn't related AT ALL to Ricky's past violations (Sammy = took Sudafed last October).
The Dolphins are getting praise for many, many good reasons (all because of Saban ultimately).... Trust the concensus, it's YOU who are under- or mis-informed.

"Yet ANOTHER drug issue with a player."

Too bad everyone who uses Sudafed at one point (whether perscribed or not) doesn't get suspended for 4 weeks wiithout pay from thier job.

Culpeppers has gotten his TC snaps, he'll be fine...But to call Cleo Lemon our best QB is like calling Wes Welker our tallest player. He just isn't.
