patrick turner didnt do anything this season, but he was drafted to be a big playmaking reciever and he and hartline, who showed great promise, will be expected to step up and be our top recievers. parcells is more likely to sign a guy through free agency like antonio bryant or miles austen, then draft a wideout real high in the draft. its just not his style. he might bring a late round draft pick to compete, but sorry to the guys who wanted dez bryant or golden tate, just not going to happen.

Nobody thought Pat White was a Parcells type player and White was a Parcells pick. He was picked a year after they drafted Chad Henne in the same round !

Nobody thought Parcells would go O-line with the 1st overall pick in 2008, because he rarely if ever picked O-linemen in the First Round in his history.

Well he selected Jake Long 1st overall despite people saying he would never go O-line in the 1st round.

One would think with Parcells' love for linebackers in a 3-4, that he would have selected them last year.. But instead went with 3 skill positions players of the first 3 picks last year (Vontae, White, and SS).

Never say never. Because Parcells has been a little more fruity in his time with Miami.. doing things differently than he has done before.

But let's not make this just about parcells, although it was parcells who brought in Pat White. White was his guy.

Jeff Ireland has a lot of say, he is the GM after all.. If he wants a receiver he wants a receiver.

Personally, I think the defense needs a lot more work, and that's the way I'd go.. What good is it to have a WR when as soon as you score a TD the defense gives up an 80 yard drive on 5 plays giving up a quick TD ?

The Colts needed less than 14 minutes of possession time to score 27 points on Miami's garbage D. Embarrassing the dolphins on national TV.. everyone was laughing at the dolphins that entire week because they couldn't win even though they had 45+ minutes of possession time.

Defense defense defense is the way I go first and foremost.

Not true, if we don't fix the defense no number 1 will help us get better is the truth. We're division champs if the defense played half decent, we do need to improve the wr core but the defense is by far the most important concern.

i dont want to look at players by position. if Bryant or McClain is there we pick em. If not we can look at BPA like Spiller. If we want to reach we can go Spikes, Thomas, Williams or Hughes/ kindles

i agree, theres absolutely no way we will draft a wr in the 1st 3 rounds. i dont think at all after we drafted 2 last year. our wr corps are fine. we will get our #1 through FA.

I think it has been proven over the last few years that more rookies make an impact on the defensive side of the ball than the offensive side. So I say we get a WR through FA, and grab as many young defensive studs as we can through the draft. We need ILB and OLB help first and foremost, then NT, and safety help.

Honestly, you could argue that every position on this team needs help, other than QB. Our WR's are a mish-mash. The OL wasn't great, and teams attacked Vernon Carey. We need another CB. Our LB's struggled all season. We need a NT, and safety was a sad lot.

I'm pretty excited with our DE's, but I'd be fine with grabbing one of those as well. We need speed and playmaking at RB as well.

I hope the front office identifies players that can make an impact through free agency or trade, and then goes after the best players in the draft regardless of position. The whole team needs players who will make plays. This is year three of a rebuild, and is usually the spackle and finishing draft.

First, we built the lines, on both sides. Then, we moved away from the football and started on the edges with WR and CB. Now, we need the finishing touch type players to become a complete football team. I love CJ Spiller, but I doubt we go that route.

We'll probably try to upgrade the fellas who go after the QB, which will help the defense in several areas.
