It's ok to feel disrespected right now. After all, we've beaten some of the best teams in the AFC. But say we beat Seattle and Oakland (which we should), don't take it as a spite to the Fins if we're still not getting a ton of attention.
Sure, six wins through 10 games is pretty great. But the fact is, even if we win both of those games (like I said, we should), we have to win when we're acually in the thick of the race. ... That will come when at 6-4 and we play the Pats at home. If we win that game, then no one can say that we're not a legit team.
A lot of people right now see the Fins as a novelty, what with the Wildcat offense and such. But those people don't watch the games. They see the highlights and think, "Huh, look at Ted Ginn, it's about time.' 'Huh, look at Joey Porter, it's about time.' 'Huh, Chad Pennington; ... What's the Wildcat??' 'Huh, look at the Dolphins.'"
They don't watch every play and see Camarillo taking off; they don't see Davone Bess; they don't see Matt Roth; they don't see Randy Starks; they don't see Dan Carpenter, etc., etc., etc.
But my point is, don't take it as disrespect that we're not being talked about all the time. Hell, I kind of like flying under the radar. Who gives a damn if people think we're good? If we're good enough to make the playoffs, then we'll get there.
I don't KNOW that we're gonna make the playoffs. I don't KNOW if we'll finish with a winning record. Hell, I don't even KNOW if we'll win one more game. But I've watched 99 of the last 100 Fins games (I missed when Chambers dominated to help bring us back against Buffalo in '05, forgive me), and not once did I give damn what people say about us. ...
Let them be wrong.
