Don't mean to be a downer but...

Ireland tried desperately to not only trade up in the 2nd round (to the first pick) but also trade to the bottom of the 2nd, top of the 3rd. He clearly saw value in a lot of places but didn't get a chance to grab it. That's fine. Rumor has it, there is still a lot of value left for Miami.

I think the Egnew trade down was a great move. They wanted someone desperately, and clearly he got taken between St Louis and #72, so they trade down and grabbed the next player on their board, picking up extra value. I expect them to turn that into a future pick sometime down the road. I see us grabbing a WR in the 4th and then some more depth at OLB.

HUGE fan of this draft so far. Great job. Then again, a lot of teams are having phenomenal drafts. Except Jacksonville, Cleveland, and NE outside of the 1st round

Ireland should get praised for failing?

This is typical Ireland. Ignoring the problem that is apparent for everyone, become so wrapped up in your own theories.....then scramble like hell to try and fix it when it all blows up in your face. Thats one of the reasons why this teams keeps trying to fill the same holes over and over again. We are completely reactionary.

We had a chance to get a talented player in a impact position that we currently have a hole in. Instead we tried to play it cute. No amount of "trying" is going to fix that.

It's not about what you want!!! The F/O makes the picks and clearly they wanted these players. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you know better than they do. We all have opinions, but if you think you know better than they do, think again. we can agree to disagree, that is what makes draft days so much fun.

Yeah, because, ya know, theyve done such a good job in the past of inspiring confidence.

Its not a stretch to say that some of the people on this board deserve a GM job over Ireland.
