OK Here me out..... Eagles cut Tebow; what are peoples thoughts on bringing him in as a utility player (TE, HB, and 3rd QB to keep on the scout team)? I like the guy and would love to see him succeed somewhere. He could be our new Jim (Crash) Jenson, who happens to be my favorite Dolphin after Marino. Please don't post hateful responses I just want honest, tasteful opinions.

No.

Just no. he sucks, and as a "utility player" he offers little, who would you can for him? Or call him the 3rd te? lol

I like tebow but no.

And he is a qb not a tight end

I believe you got your answer DolfinWally :)

Just say no to te bo

Not sure there'd be room for him at all.
I've soured on Matt Moore a lot in the past few years, but I still consider him one of the better backups in the NFL.
Would I rather have Tebow than MBT? Yeah maybe, but that's like saying one guy who can't pass well is better than another who doesn't play well. Not really a huge upgrade, if that even is an upgrade.
For RB's, I like our group of Miller, Williams, James, Ajayi. Don't need Tebow there.
I like our 2 main TE's Cameron and Sims. Perhaps we need a 3rd TE, and I'd like to see what TE's are available before even considering the idea Tebow can block, run routes, and catch passes at the NFL level.

As long as everyone's mostly healthy, just don't see it happening.

There is a pretty well known reason why Tebow never pursued the TE role (even though he's built for it). He's not good at catching the ball. He's a runner and passer (well 47%), not a catcher.

I like the idea of having a player who can be our third QB but at the same time contribute in other ways, but I would prefer Joe Webb. Webb would require a trade but probably wouldn't cost much. Does anyone doubt that Joe Webb beat us nearly single handed this preseason?

I wouldn't want to see Tebow as a fin.

I can just picture Wannstedt sprinting to the phone to try and sign that guy.

Seriously speaking, I think Tebow might still end up being a great NFL QB.

He has talent and is a leader. Remember how long it took Steve Young to develop into the Hall of Famer that he became?

It took a number of years, Jim Plunkett as well.

As soon as I saw the news of his release, I knew someone was going to make a thread like this.

In before the "just give Tebow a chance" and "he won in Denver" comments.

Hi Wally,

RE Tebow:

Nah. His schtick plays better in "god's country."

He could do well in rural TX. Or maybe TN.

I wish there was a tire fire I could throw this thread in

In all seriousness Tebow would make a great special teams player.

St Timmah! and his quest to be an nfl QB is a prime example of Einstein's definition of insanity.

I thought was the one who noticed that its the teams in the liberal NE playing mid games w/ you know who.
