This may have been brought up already, but with the pats forfeiting there first round pick for CHEATING, would that mean the Dolphins are on the board with what would be the last pick (32) of the first round? :winkwink:

if u wna look at it that way yes and we have a 3rd thats a 2nd a 4th thats a 3rd etc etc.

Not this year, the best TE is Fred Davis and will be considered a reach at No.32. Good value with our second first or third rounder, but not with the 32nd pick.

Another WR is still a more pressing need than a TE. Derek Hagan is not the guy to line up opposite Ginn. Adarious Bowman at 32 would me a happy camper.

There are no Greg Olsen type prospects, who I would have taken at 32 this year. TE's are not building blocks, they're luxuries rebuilding franchises can't afford.

This should be the year we finally get some talent on the OL and start a new era of Dolphin football lead by the big uglies.

and to answer your question, no its not a second first round pick. There's a big difference, because if we had the last pick in the first round we could've likely signed the rookie to a 5 year deal, where as now were going to sign the player to a 4 year deal.

well if you read into it then basically its a first round pick just because the pats don't have one. but its still a second round pick. sucks for the guy that is picked there cuz he should have been a first rounder but he will always go down as a second round pick, losing money but may motivate him. who knows?

So i guess when the Browns took Winslow, the Giants took Shockey, Cowboys took Whitten they were all powerhouses. To be honest most of the time a TE is a big building block to rebuilding a franchise. Hence, why most call the TE a QB's "security blanket".

very well said i agree 100%. a TE who can block and catch is vital for an offense.

You can make the opposite case with SF taking Vernon Davis. He didn't help them at all. I admit Davis hasn't been around as long but this is just to keep things in perspective. At the end of the day it all depends on the player taken. No matter what position.

Davis is te go to guy in SF though, so I don't see your argument.

I think we need a TE but I don't see us taking 1 at 32.....I think we'll take a corner there unless a guy like Okam falls to 32 or a LB that Tuna likes...btw,I like Rucker better than Davis.

Ozzy rules!!

When our first 2nd round pick comes up then I think we should take a hard look at Mario Manningham if he hasn't been taken already. He can't be any worse than Hagan catching the football and I know for a fact he's faster.

If Frank Okam NT is available.............................
