It may be too early to discuss off-season strategy, but do you think Grier/Tannenbaum embrace the offensive change in identity and make strong moves (early draft picks and/or FA signings) to bolster the offensive line?

I get that we have many needs at DE, DT, LB, CB, TE, and maybe even WR, but I can't help but think that our recent surge due to the return of our OL starters as well as the blueprint that the Cowboys have been using lately is the key to sustained success.

All of the above. I don't see Bushrod as a long term solution and Albert probably has 1-2 more seasons playing at a high level. James is serviceable and is young, so with him and Tunsil the T position is set.
They need to focus on G in FA or middle of the draft. Defense still needs to be the focus in the early rounds, especially LB.
Darn I wish they could squeeze some juice out of that lemon aka Dion Jordan. That would reduce the need for an early pick on DE.

I think it's slightly different than that. We are in the slightly unusual position of being able to take the Best Player Available. They may think we are set at QB, WR and RB, and if so, fair enough. But every other position needs at least 1 more starter. DE we need 1 starter, maybe 2. DT we definitely could use 1 starter. OLB we need 2 starters. ILB we could use 1 starter and move Kiko around. We need 1 starter boundary CB and we can always use more CB's. S is another position where we're weak, and depending upon how you feel about IAQ, we might be able to use a starter there. With Jones' versatility at SS or FS, that could be either safety.

On offense we definitely need a RG. If we move on from Albert, that means Tunsil shifts to LT and we'll also need a LG. We definitely need 1 starting TE. Opinions differ on whether we are in the market for more QB, WR or RB, but I'd say it's safe to assume that there is not a need at starter for these positions.

That's a lot of needs. I think the front office will take BPA and build around that. Personally, I might prioritize DE because of age and CB because we have VJ to develop young CB's. Yes, we need a TE, RG and WOLB too ... but resources are limited, and I'd prioritize DE and CB.

That fruit is rotten. We have scurvy.

RD 1 should be D. If you want a SLB who can rush the passer, Harold Landry is a stud. If you want a base DE that can rush the passer off the edge or kick inside, Barnett, Allen, and Walker are all quality options. Foster and Cunningham are good-looking SULB's. CB looks deep, and Hooker and Adams are both awesome Safety prospects. So, you can go in a number of different directions and do well, but it HAS to be D in the 1st.

Probably round 2 also.

We really need to draft BPA, targeting OL (to solidify razor thin depth and long term replacements for Albert and Bushrod), LB, DE, secondary, and TE. Overall, I think we need to continue to bolster along the LOS on both sides of the ball.

Agree. I think it's hard to go wrong loading up on D - unless you draft poorly, but then you're screwed anyway.

We all were thinking last draft was offense this one will be defense and if you look at the way the contracts were stuctured on defense I see nothing there that deters that thought process.

Would like a TE and another OL etc but they may have to work some of that in FA and at some point in the draft.

Leary a FA? I think he his, I would snag him this offseason and draft a few guys later to develop

Yes. We have no depth at OL, Branden Albert is not getting any younger, Pouncey has been injured a lot, and Bushrod is near the end of his career.

You can get depth players later in the draft and in free agency. Our top picks need to be impact defenders.

After this year's heavy offense, I think one could argue going defense throughout the whole draft.

Well agree with your point about the trenches and for sure were going to need help along the Dline. You can make the argument for the OL also but I think the need is greater across the Dline.

Double down on a strength? There's already 3 first rounders on the line as it is. It's the recipe for a team without playmakers. It's why we are where we are.

You can find quality olinemen anywhere in the draft. Defense heavy draft and oline in later rounds and/or FA.
