just for thought 06 with our 1st Lt or Qb? and who will we likely have the chance to get? just wandering what you all think. should try and get the next orlando pace or the franchise qb we need badly

Thats a good question. I guess I feel we should try for LT in the first and QB in the second. I think a lot of times quality QB's can be found in round 2-3 but after that its too much of a crapshoot.

Rate the LT's and QB's together and when it's our pick take the highest rated of the 2 I guess!

draft a LT!!!

we should go after Brees/Rivers or Harrington (the only reason hes doing bad is cause his team really sucks)

During Monday night football, they talked about the awesome Dallas OL and how NONE of them were 1st rounders. So, it seems to me a waste to go OL in the first round. We'd either go QB or WR or BPA depending on where we finish I think.

Walter Jones is a 1st rounder. He is hardly a waste.

Too soon to tell.

But it's worth noting that this will be a loaded first round for OTs, and not so much for QBs. Only Matt Leinart is a sure-fire first round pick, and if Omar Jacobs comes out, he probably is too. But that's it.

It's all going to depend on where we sit and which is a better value at either position. If two equally graded players sit at our spot 1 at QB and 1 at OT, I find it hard to believe they would pick the OT. IMO rarely do teams pass on a potential franchise QB if one is available.

The pick of Ronnie Brown over a QB is different IMO since RB is another skill position. I'm talking about whether a team would take a QB with franchise potential over an equally graded OL.

We should definitely go after a QB first. One of two reasons, there are so many lineman entering the draft that I think we'll get a good one in the later rounds. Plus the jury is still out on whether Vernon Carey can be the answer on the left side. He had a very solid preseason, but with McDougle's horrible play, he had to make the switch. We invested a 1st round pick on Carey, so he might be the answer. We need a young QB that can learn Linehan's offense from ground zero. It would be nice to have Gus here for another year to serve as a tutor to speed up the rookie's learning curve.

Harrington! im teling u the kid has all the skills in the world. The only reason he has struggled was cause he didnt have any receivers. Now that he has some he doesnt have a O-line.

The Bears game he got hit every time he went back to pass

Sorry, but no more former Ducks at QB!!!

It depends what qb's are out there. After Leinart is there a franchise qb in the draft? Could be with Jacobs if he comes out, but I'm not sure if there is another first round quarterback after those two. There are four potential franchise left tackles, though, so that may be the way to go. There are also some nice DT's after a down year last year and that's definitely an area Miami could look early. Maybe the Dolphins can get a qb in the 2nd or 3rd round like Croyle, Cutler or the kid from Texas AM whose name escapes me at the moment.
