The most important Dolphins draft since that 1983 day when Don Shula picked Dan Marino already is on the horizon.

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. has the Dolphins picking Alabama inside linebacker Rolando McClain with the No. 12 overall selection.

The nine picks Miami has in the 2010 are a big deal because this is its third draft under Bill Parcells, making this the draft that must help the Dolphins turn the corner on rebuilding and get started on reloading the roster with stars.

Kiper believes the Dolphins will have a healthy, and perhaps heated, discussion about using their first pick on McClain or Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant, assuming Bryant is still available.

If we're smart we wont pick at 12...We'll trade down and accumulate picks....Even if McClain and/or Bryant are there.

There are plenty of WR's next season and there's whispers Rolando may not be all that we thought.....Trade down, gets picks and still have a shot a a quality player in the 20's range.

Very Scary Statistic
The only no-brainer in free agency seems to be Arizona inside linebacker Karlos Dansby.

He's only 28 years old, he had only 12 fewer tackles last year than Miami inside linebackers Akin Ayodele and Channing Crowder combined, and getting him would improve the Dolphins at a need position -- giving them flexibility in the draft to solve other issues.

short answer is that the draft has killed this franchise the past dozen or so years.

Yes, our first pick will be very crucial too. I wouldn't mind seeing us get our next all-pro LB though. Im starting to lean toward trading down to get some extra picks(maybe 3rd)and grabbing Brandon Graham(assuming he doesnt have an insane combine and shoot up boards). Unless Eric Berry falls to us some way lol.

This is a no brainer... Every draft is crucial to a team's future.

i thought it was just for entertainment, you know... see jets fans get all excited when their team pick and then boom they all start to cry/get mad/whine/think the ******* pick they made was actually brilliant/ etc.

..
