While things are slowing down here prior to the draft, I was thinking about some of the picks made on draft day that I was cheering for at the time (and got) and some that I couldn't believe happened when they happened. I thought I'd throw out a few, and if other members want to chime in with your memories, feel free.
I remember in 1997 in round 2 hoping JJ would take Sam Madison when our pick came up, and also take JT in the third when our pick came up. It's the only time I've ever gotten who I wanted as I was watching the draft unfold, that I can actually recall.
I remember being floored when Wannstedt went Jamar Fletcher instead of Drew Brees, but I had heard that Fletcher was on their radar.

Remember the year we had the #2 overall pick and we drafted a backup RB from Auburn? Ahh Ronnie Brown. I hardly knew thee besides the Wildcat

this shows how much i know, but i wanted brady quinn so bad, and when we drafted ted ginn jr it felt like the biggest punch in the balls.

Entire 2013 draft was disappointing. Thought Jordan and Taylor would be solid players

Biggest thrill for me was drafting Ryan Tannehill and knowing Miami was going to be developing a quarterback instead of getting a new one year after year.

Eddie bleepin' Moore. Anquan Boldin was sitting right there and we take Eddie bleepin' Moore. SMDH.

That's just one that stands out. It's sad but there are too many to list.

There have been a few times when Miami drafted the player I most wanted for the team at their pick. DaVante Parker is the most recent and I still think he breaks out and makes that a good pick for the Dolphins.

There have also been a few times when the team took the player I least wanted at their pick. Jason Allen was one of those players.

I also remember listening to the radio, prior to the draft being televised and getting excited when they announced "linebacker from Ohio State.....I thought Speilman, but Miami took Kumerow.

Wanted Drew Breese, instead we pass on him and take Jamar Fletcher........

I remember jumping around happier than a fly on crap when the Dolphins drafted Sammie Smith. I thought he was going to be the running game that was missing for so many years.. Oh my goodness was I wrong...

Pat White. What an absolutely awful pick. His ceiling would have been a gimmicky wildcat QB. We didn't even get that far. Guys like LeSean McCoy or Connor Barwin could have been had.

Edit: I also want to add I went to one Dolphins draft day party, the year we passed on Quinn and got ted ginn jr. I was one of the few along with my dad that liked that pick. I thought Brady Quinn was garbage. If he didn't have the expectations of a first round pick I think he could still be a dolphin. Solid player with a now 10+ year career.

The 2013 draft for both......The Dolphins move up to number 3!!!!! =) They select Dion Jordan =(

In recent memory two 5th round picks come to mind as guys I was really excited to land. Reshad Jones and Jay Ajayi.

In 2013, watching the draft at my brother's house with a bunch of Eagles fans, I stood up and declared the Miami Dolphins were taking Lane Johnson, although I wasn't as disappointed then as I am now, with the Dion Jordan pick.

At the moment it happened though, Pat White is by far my least favorite pick in recent history. That selection made me want to puke.

Jason Allen pissed me off quite a bit but at least there was potential at a position of need. Pat White made zero sense and from that moment I despised Parcells even more than I always had.

I had a lot of concerns with drafting Tannehill, then, not now. Simply because he was such an enigma and Luck and RG3 were so hyped it felt like we settled for a QB for the sake of getting a QB. I love the kid now.

Within a split second, in '08, my thrill was not hearing Brady Quinn's name; my "WTF?" level disappointment was hearing Ginn's

Dolphins drafts have been pretty meh since I started following the draft as closely as I do now. Not that they didn't draft some good players, just no one you would get all the excited about at the time that they're memorable moments. Maybe Tunsil is the exception, and Long -- a pick I liked at the time -- was basically drafted long before the event.

So my favorite draft moment has to be when the Jets passed on Sapp. I wasn't watching the draft. Was at a Devils game and maybe ten or fifteen Jets fans were sitting around me. Don't remember how they got word of the pick, either one of them had a radio or was watching a television in one of the luxury boxes. But they all had this look of utter dejectment that was even better than that guy on TV that puts his face in both palms.

Biggest draft day disappointment was taking Fletcher over Brees. A close second was getting my hopes up that Rodgers would slip into the second round to see him taken by the Packers.

I was gonna say not drafting Brady Quinn was mine
