here is my wish list

1st Laron Landry FS best player in draft maybe
2nd Joe Staley LT
2nd Enoka Lucas or Satele Center (kalil will be gone)
3rd Gonzalez WR Ohio State:cooldude:

im really liking that draft. im not sure how good Joe Staley is...but ive heard lots of upside to samson satele. and gonzales is a good clutch receiver

Gonzo actually has a chance to go anywhere from first round to late 2nd, so I doubt he'd be there at #3, though that'd eb amazing value. Jason Hill has a better chance of being there in the 3rd round, or Craig Davis, though both could be gone.

Can I play too???

1st Levi Brown OT
2nd Sidney Rice WR
2nd Troy Smith QB
3rd Ben Patrick TE

I know it's heavy on the offensive side of the ball, but they are some of out biggest needs. If we sign a WR in the next day or two, I could see us taking Brandon Meriweather or Chris Houston to help in the defensive back field.

The first mock rocked. If that happened that would be awesome. As long as Quinn is off the boards we most definitely take Landry.

I don't see Gonz making it to the 3rd. I think he will go late 1st early 2nd.
BUt if he somehow manages to free fall like Jackson did last year and he is there late 2nd round early 3rd then most definitely trade up and get him.

They are needs but Brown at 9 is not good value

Actually unless one of the big 4-5 players happens to drop into our laps, I am pretty sure that Cam will draft Levi Brown at #9. It will be a slight reach (projected to be draft between 10-15) but he fills a definate need for us.

My projected mock would then be:

1 - Levi Brown OT
2a - Kahil C
2b - Sidney Rice WR
3 - Lorenzo Booker RB

Again, I don't think we'll draft Brown at 9 if at all....we could take him if we move down but Cam wants to build inside out so we'll probably take a guard or a center before we draft a LT.

Ozzy rules!!

Are you projecting Booker and Rice there because you like them, or because you think they represent a good pick at that point. Because I don't se Rice slipping to #60, though if he did I would hope we jump on him, and I think our 3rd might be too high for Booker, and especially consider other positions we could get help at.

Sweet mock dude

One could read building from the inside out as the OL(inside) towards the skill positions(outside).

I've been hearing that teams are getting turned off of Sidney Rice a little because of his speed. He has good speed, but this year there are sooo many other WRs that are faster. He is good enough to be taken at the first of the second round, but I have a feeling that he might slip some...

As to Booker, if Cam thinks he can return kicks, he would be a good backup RB and special team player. In the Michael Turner role that Cam liked at SD.

Good mock draft, but I don't see Troy Smith being drafted before the 3rd round. He could even drop into 4th or 5th round.

Love Landry. But safety just isn't a need right now what with Jason Allen, Yeremiah Bell, and Renaldo Hill already on our roster. Also, we just signed Cameron Worrell. Worrell is mainly a special teams guy, but teams generally only carry 4 safeties. So that's our 4 the way I see it.

Some people have suggested moving Allen to CB. I just don't see that happening.

Now, who do we have at left tackle? LJ Shelton? Anthony Alabi? No thanks. And I'm not sure Staley is an upgrade over either of them. Just look at the top offensive linemen as a whole (regardless of position)...

1. Joe Thomas
2. Levi Brown
3. Ben Grubbs
4. Ryan Kalil
5. Arron Sears
6. Justin Blalock
7. Joe Staley

Staley is 7th on the list. And some scouts have Tony Ugoh rated higher than Staley. Ugoh's stock is rising.

Now, if the list looked like this...

1. Joe Thomas
2. Ben Grubbs
3. Ryan Kalil
4. Arron Sears
5. Justin Blalock
6. Levi Brown
7. Joe Staley

...then, sure, I'd say pass on Brown and take Staley in the 2nd.

But we should consider ourselves lucky if Brown is still on the board when we pick. AZ lost Leonard Davis to free agency, and there isn't a good LT left to be had. Hopefully, Oakland and Detroit will select Russell and Quinn leaving Joe Thomas for AZ. If Detroit selects Joe Thomas, AZ might consider Brown too much of a reach at #5. And they do have pressing needs on defense. So they might wait and take Staley or Ugoh in the 2nd.

The Fins should absolutely draft Levi Brown. If we don't, he won't be on the board much longer after the #9 spot. Atlanta might even take him at #10.

Then we should take Drew Stanton at #40. Even if Culpepper bounces back, he has a history of getting dinged up. Stanton would be a great backup as well as a potential starter down the road.

Satele might slip to the 3rd. And it's a low risk to see if he does. Because if he doesn't, then we can still pick Doug Datish or Dustin Fry in the 4th. So I'd wait on Satele and take CB Josh Wilson from Maryland. He's fast. And a great return man as well. Wilson would provide us with an upgrade at CB, and take over for the departed Wes Welker.

Enoka Lucas is projected to go in the 5th round.

I'd love to get Gonzalez in the 3rd, but Jason Hill or Aundrae Allison is more realistic. And both of them are faster than Gonzalez.

Agree with the O-line picks. Time to build with some actual talent on that line. At least a great O-lineman lasts ten years plus, unlike a great runningback nowadays, who seem to least four years and then decline. I don't think Gonzalez will be around by the third. If he is he'd be a great replacement for our departed slot WR.
