From looking at Bill Parcells history, and looking at our own roster, its pretty obvious we desperately need an Inside Linebacker.
Guys with first round talent include:
Ray Maualuga
James Laurinitis

Suppose they are both off the board, which is very likely

There would be no NT to take as Bj Raji would be off the board and Ron Brace is a 2nd round talent.

We drafted two early DEs in last years draft.

I could possibly see the Fins drafting a CB or Safety.

The only Safety with Round 1 talent is FS Louis Delmas but we might be able to grab him in Round 2.

CBs is a deep position in the draft.
-Malcolm Jenkins and Vontae Davis should be off the board
-DJ Moore and/or Alphonso Smith would be a good value pick..
Only problem is that their short and when your looking for a future #1 or #2 CB to cover the Fitzgeralds and Moss's of the game, its tough to draft a shorter guy.

WR is really tough because...
We have four or five guys that will most likely be on our day one roster.
-Ginn,Bess, Camarillo, possibly London, and possibly Wilford (check salary cap issue)
-I think with so many WRs in this years draft, perhaps the FO grabs a WR in a later round or later rounds (Bess, Camarillo, London.. its a pattern)

The only position that is rich in 1st round talent and where I think the Fins can get 1st round talent is the OLB position.

Now the WHAT IF...

What if a player like Knowshon Moreno, Chris Wells, and/or Lesean McCoy are available with our pick...Its not as unlikely as one might think...Think that many teams are switching to the 3-4 so there will be a high demand for versatile LBs.. That plus remember how many Left Tackles were drafted in the 1st round last year..Theres a possibility 1 or 2 of those top running backs are available with our pick...What do the Fins do?

-Would you draft Chris Wells knowing how talented he is...The draft is supposed to be about "Best player available" and Wells or Moreno would definitely be better than any guy on the board
-Would you trade the pick to a team in desperate need of a running back like Denver or Tampa?
-Or draft a defensive guy like Larry English, Everette Brown, Clint Sintim, DJ Moore or Alphonso Smith
-Or draft an offensive guy like Duke Robinson, Alex Mack, Max Unger, or Hakeem Nicks
-Or am I way off and do you guys have another possibility?

I think the selection will be Larry English. Drafting an RB is not a priority this year so I don't see that happening. If English is gone maybe Clay Matthews Jr.

I think if only one of the big names RB is left on the board when we pick we could possibly trade down with a team like Arizona or Philly in the first or down into the second with Cleveland or Seattle both having needs at the RB position. I think Bill would lean towards BAP at any position besides QB or RB.

B.Cushing will play ILB in the 3/4 so he has to be off the board aswell. Sintim, Mack, Ayers, Nicks (I doubt it), V.Davis, A.Smith are all a possiblilty as is a trade down. I do not see Clay Mathews as being a good pick until the late 2nd or 3rd.

See, I dont think youre necessarily wrong but reaching on Matthews, a former walk-on, and a one year true starter, over taking a guy like Moreno would be crazy in my opinion

I think you put Sean Smith in the "DJ Moore and/or Alphonso Smith" category.
I think the pick will be between Sean Smith, Clint Sintim, and Larry English.

Just because a player is highly rated in a certain draft year doesn't necessarily make him an elite prospect.

None of the RB's in this years draft compares to Adrian Peterson or Ronnie Brown. If Wells ran a 4.4 and Moreno a 4.3 it might be different. They just aren't fast enough to be elite prospects at the next level.

Good prospects yes!! But not elite.

No, I wouldn't draft RB anywhere and Ireland is on record saying it isn't BPA, he said "it is a mixture".

id take larry english any day... even cushing b4 we draft a RB again... that would be dumb

The position that the Tuna has picked most often besides LB is CB. I think we will go with the best one there.

The last thing I would want to see is a running back. There are quite a few good OLs, DLs, and LBs. One more good OL could give them the depth they need to get through the season and they badly need guys that can make plays at LB. I think the Dolphins should get what they can in these areas with those first 3 picks (1st and 2 2nds).

I agree that they will take Larry English or some other linebacker. He will most likely be there. They wont take a running back, maybe late in the draft.

There is no way we draft a RB in the first. It is probably the only position we have where we don't need any more depth. With the first I see us drafting the best available LB or DB, or trading down for more picks. It's just the Parcell's way.
