Cleveland Browns: Acquire pick No. 22 (select QB Brady Quinn).
Dallas Cowboys: Acquire pick No. 36 and Browns' first-round pick in 2008.

San Francisco 49ers: Acquire pick No. 28 (selected OT Joe Staley).
New England Patriots: Acquire pick No. 110 and a first-round pick

Is it just me or are these two trades a couple of the worst trades in history?

In the cleveland trade you have pick 22 in the 2007 draft traded for a top 10 pick in the 2008 draft and pick 36 in the 2007 draft. This trade makes no sense. If cleveland liked quinn so much and was willing to trade so much why not draft him at number 3?

Lets assume that cleveland has pick 10 in next years draft, here is the point difference:

22:780

10:1300
36:540

780 - (1300 + 540) = -1060

By my calculations cleveland is in the hole by over 1000 points which is equal to pick 16, and that is if they have pick 10.

In the 49ers trade you have pick 28 in the 2007 draft traded for a pick between 10 and 15 in the 2008 draft and pick 110 in the 2007 draft.

Lets assume the 49ers have pick 15 in next years draft, here is the point difference:

28: 660

15: 1050
110: 74

660 - (1050 + 74) = -464

464 is equal to pick 43, personally i think the number will be higher because the 49ers suck but am trying to be conservative.

By my calculations these two trades are terrible. While Quinn and Staley may turn out to be good players these two teams were trading up even though this years draft was no where near as deep or talented as last years draft. Please nobody else say either cleveland or 49ers had a good draft.

Sorry the 49ers had a great draft...at 11 they select Willis...the best Linebacker in the draft, then at 28 they stole Staley, at 76 they selected Hill...top receiver out of the pac-10...runs 4.32 and lastly at 97 they select Ray McDonald a DT from Florida.

49er's are going to win their division. All their pieces is coming together. They did good with their pick.

The Patriots are going to once again have 2 1st rounders next year, and this time, they will more than likely have a 1st in the first half of the draft and their original 1st rounder which will be a late, late 1st. The PAtriots are complete negotiators.

This draft had 17 draft day trades. I was hoping that Randy would be very aggressive and acquire more picks for the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I would be denied.

However let no one tell you that draft day trades are hard. Today was evident.

I stand satisfied with the choices our team made. I now look forward toward tomorrow. We have 6 picks.
