I didnt know if to put this in the draft forum or here. Covers both I think.

We all know by now Satele was traded to the raiders for an undisclosed pic. I am hoping that it was atleast a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Apparently rumors are that the dolphins are not done trying to accumulate as many as 12 picks before draft day to counteract the amount of players ready for FA next season.

The herald reported:

"But I am told by a high-ranking team source, the players the team likes most in the draft will probably be gone in the 10-15 slots. The Dolphins would love to be anywhere in that number. But they are at No. 25. And the players likely to be available there aren't exactly wowing the Dolphins because similar players might also be available five to 10 slots later. So the Dolphins might be interested in trading down."

There are also rumors that other players ex.. Beck,Wilford etc... could be on the trading block.

Armando and a few others feel that fins might trade out of the #25 pick since they can pick up the same quality players a few picks later or early 2nd.
Plus they are assuming that we are going to try to pick up additional picks via trading our players.

As I mentioned earlier, they assume all this wealing and dealing is preperation for next seasons exodus.

WHat if they are not attemtping to amass all these picks for the reason I stated previously, I beleive they actually are trying to pick up another 3-4 picks to allow them to actually move up in the draft somewhere in the pick 10-15?

This will allow them to pick up the player(s) they are specifically targetting, while still mantaining a good steady amount of picks to make up for the the pick or two we have to give up to move up 10 to 15 slots.

What do you think?

Thanks for the help. But I still see only bess getting resigned.

Carpenter has been shopped...The Dallas Cowboys have looked into the possibility of trading LB Bobby Carpenter, according to sources, but might be more reluctant to move him with Kevin Burnett's departure. Burnett signed a two-year deal with San Diego earlier this month, leaving Carpenter as the top backup on the roster and a leading candidate to take over Burnett's role in the substitute defensive packages

Either way I think they are actually trying to move up in the draft, not down.

I am just trying to figure out who exactly they are targetting around pick 10-25.

We got a 6th rounder for Satele and the Raiders and Dolphins will switch positions in and undisclosed round according to espn.com. I want them to resign Pennington, Brown, Bess, Fasano, and Ricky if they can, but if they cant resign Brown, Bess, and Fasano.

What is the next season exodus? All I can find for FA's next season are
http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=By+Team&y=2010

Ricky Williams, Anthony Fasano, Rod. Wright, Matt Roth, Will Allen, and David Martin. The only guy I think they will really work to keep in Fasano. Am I missing something?

Ricky will stay with us, i think he knows he owes it to the organization and the fans, we will give him a decent deal, Will Allen i can see getting resigned along with Fasano..Martin is a goner in my books

It most certainly isn't a WR ... that's for sure

I still see LB or CB ... for our 1st 2 picks .... you pick the order

The only other picks you could toss in at that area would be T or DL. T makes no sense unless the FO trades Vernon Carey on draft day. DL is plausible though - especially if BJ falls to that area.

Just remember if the CBA isn't signed guys like Ronnie Brown won't be a FA till his seventh year.

Im almost 100 percent that it will be CB or Lb, it really depends on who is available at the time, I believe CB is number 1 on the list but if a stud slips we take that anyway, i still am going with picking 3 CB in this draft.

3 CB
2 LB
2 WR
1 DT
1 OL. something like that.
