I'll take the ignitive and help out with whole deal, let me explain the rules to the new GMs out there. First off, we'll need 3 GMs to be the "draft committee". I'll just go off and say it'll be myself, schisno, and phinsoldia if they are cool with that, Saint Greg has done a lot; I don't think he needs to overwork himself like usual. The rules will be stated below.
1. The first pick will be chosen at 6PM Eastern time on Friday, March 31, 2006.
2. You have 8 hours to pick your player in the first round. If you pick before the time limit, the clock starts for the next person. If you do not make your pick in the time, the Draft Committee will get together and decide a player for you. After the first round you have 5 hours for picking your selection.
3. Send a bulletin list to schisno, phinsoldia, or myself, if you feel you may miss your pick, so we know who to target if that person is available.
4. Closer to the draft, an official draft thread will be posted, DO NOT POST THERE UNLESS YOU ARE MAKING A PICK!!
5. An unofficial draft thread will be posted as well for all chit chat and rumors about the draft. Whether you'd like to critique other GM's picks or simply tell who should go next.
6. You MUST be under the cap by the time of your pick!! If you are over the salary cap (51 million), you will forfeit your current pick, no exceptions!
7. If you would like, you may include a paragraph including a speech of why you chose the player in the official draft thread when you announce the player you've chosen.
-Example
With the 1st overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select HB from USC, Reggie Bush.
Reggie Bush has been known as a complete player and a leader in the USC locker room. Averaging over 7ypc his senior year, Bush will certainly be a household name. The Texans organization are happy to include a player of his statue and are anxious for the 2006-07 NFL season.
It may be longer, may be shorter, but that's only an example.
8. Please be patient with picks, this will take time, do not gripe about players not picking when it's been 7 hours and they have 1 hour to do so. The GMs will probably pick way before the time limit, but please make headaches to a minimum for us.
Thank you and good luck in the draft.
