I always find it interesting to track the "evolution" of this site's mock. Our first round pick has gone from a consistent Glenn Dorsey, to a one-time Darren McFadden, to a consistent Chris Long, to a one-time Sedrick Ellis (post-Senior Bowl), to a two-time Jake Long, and now back to Chris Long. I think that is it. There may have been a one-time Matt Ryan in there as well. Anyway, here is the latest:
1. Chris Long
2a. Pat Sims
2b. Carl Nicks
3. Andre Woodson
4. Eddie Royal (WR - VaTech)
6. Thomas DeCoud (FS - Cal)
7. Jo-Lonn Dunbar (ILB - BC)
I would not be thrilled with the lack of a CB or TE, but I don't find this to be terrible. As I consider us taking Long more and more, I feel like that move will only happen with a trade of JT. So then, the pick we would get in return for JT (likely a 2nd) could be used on a CB or TE. I do feel as though we will need to address ILB sooner. It's foolish to believe that our 6th and 7th round picks will be anything more than special teams guys.
