This is the official draft thread for the league. We've done the first 5 picks in the other thread, so let's put the rest here so they don't get buried in 20 pages of discussion. We can use the other thread as a peanut gallery type thing.

With the 7th overall selection the Raiders will select Derrick Johnson, Linebacker out of Texas

The commissioner is walking to the podium.

"With the 8th overall selection in the 2005 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select...Adam "Pac Man" Jones, cornerback out of West Virginia University."

A loud cheer erupts from the crowd!

With the 9th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft the San Fransico 49ers selects....

Aaron Rodgers QB California

We felt that we need a player who we feel that can help us become better. That is why we took a QB here.

With the 10th pick of the 2005 Draft the Detroit Lions are proud to select out of South Carolina WR Troy Williamson. Williamson has remarkable speed for his above average size for a WR. He has been called the fastest WR in the draft with speed to embarrass corners.

With the 11th pick in the 2005 Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select

Shawne Merriman OLB Maryland

Pound for pound, Merriman may be the best athlete in the entire draft. He is an awesome athlete. He has a great build for a linebacker, has great speed, and has very good lateral agility. He is explosive up the field and can really put pressure on the quarterback. He has the ability and experience to play up or down in the pros.

With the 13th overall pick the Oakland Raiders would like to select WR Roddy White out of Alabama-Birmingham

With the 14th overall Selection in the 2005 NFL entry Draft....The Washington Redskins Select Carlos Rogers,CB.... Aurburn University

Kansas City forfiets the 15th selection for violating salary cap restrictions Pittsburgh is now on the clock

The Green Bay Packers have sent #41, #64, #100 and #138 to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the #16 pick in the draft.

With the 16th pick of the 2005 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers select Cedric Benson, RB, Texas.

We are delighted that we have the oppotunity to select a great runner like Cedric. We felt he was the second best player in the draft and for us to be able to get up to #16 and draft him is fantastic. We had a nice pool of RBs but we now have a legit franchise runner.

Atlanta Falcons get their man with Thomas Davis the best Safety in the draft in Atlanta's only major need

Somebody needs to update the first post.
