I know there has been a lot of talk about the quarterback position and who the quarterback of the future will be for this franchise. It's not the only question, but it is an important one since the qb has the ability to affect the game more than any other person. The fact that Miami has had very little production from this position over the last five years or so after having Dan Marino and Bob Griese only punctuates the problem among us fans.

I don't know what Saban will end up doing, but after reading the article about Mueller I got to thinking the team could very well take two quarterbacks in the upcoming draft. In a lot of ways that would make sense. First, the team likely won't be able to get Leinart who is the only elite quarterback out there -- unless someone like Quinn declares. So taking two from the next group gives you a better chance to hit. JJ used to do that with certain positions and I thought that was a smart strategy.

Personally, I haven't seen all the qb's yet. But I am definitely liking Brodie Croyle of Alabama. I think he'll move up before all is said and done, but due to injuries might be had in the 3rd round. Pair him with someone like Jay Cutler and we double the odds. If the team hits on both them you have quality depth or ammunition for a trade.

No.I dont think that Mueller was referring to taking two QBs in the same draft.I think he was saying that its good to select one QB in every draft.

with the aging defense and the below-average offensive line and the weak secondary, i'd rather put picks into those positions than on two QBs. maybe a team like the jets could do that as they're pretty solid in the other areas of the team

Leinhart is a weirdo and a bust, thank god we are doing good and won't be able to select him....

I like your idea of 2 QB's, but the second one will have to come from a pic picked up in a trade

If im right we only have 8 draft pics and we should be drafting 2 OL, 1 QB,1 DT, 1 SS 1 CB and 1 WR

Our Needs
QB (Hell Yeah) Draft 2 and 1 free agent 1 rookie free agent
RB (Loaded)
Fb (we good)
WR (Need One only if one with amazing talent falls to us on Day 2---possesion reciever type---OJ McDuffie type) we also got Gibson (hidden gem if he grows up)
OT (2 We only have Alabi and Carey---that are young)
OL (No Need)
C (Hadnot---the truth da future and back up W. Smith)
TE (we Set)

DE (we Set)
DT (1 More later rounds we got Manny and Vickerson)
LB (2 More Channing and dats it---future)
SS (We good)
CB (1 more to replace Madison soon) We got Daniels, Poole, Mitchell

We need to trade McKinney, Madison last resort same 2nd round pic as Surtain nutting less, trade feeley if possible, dont trade ricky even though everyone wants us to.

Dats my two cents

why is there talk of draft already when it's only the 5th week of the season???

I think we should draft Keller from Arizona.. I think he could make our practice squad.

weird? yes. Bust? I don't know. He might have some maturity problems, but unlike Ryan Leaf or Cade McNown he's not over-confident, or an idiot.

I agree I'm happy we're doing well and won't be in position to draft Leinart, but that dude is no bust. Weird, perhaps, but no bust.

In reality, can you really fault the guy for staying one more year in college - not to work on his game - but just to enjoy being a college student for one more year. And let's face it, he's living la vida loca over there, essentially dating any eligible girl he wants, picking them out of groups of hotties all over campus. Life is just plain fun for him right now. How many of us would trade our first year of work in for one more year in college? Heck, I know I would!

Sure the NFL is amazing, and will make him very rich, but he'll never be livin' it up quite like he is now. That's why he stayed! It's not like he'll be going to a better team next year than he would have this year!

I'm only in my first month of college and hell, I can totally see what Leinart is doing.

Yeah, especially at Plattsburgh!

Careful, I had two cousins fail out of that place after their Freshman year! Just keep the partying to only 80 percent of the time, and you'll be al set! :friday: :beerbang: :drinkers: :barf:

Not to be totally off topic, I'm all for drafting two QBs if you can. Remember when Wash took Heath Shuler #1? They also took a little known QB named Gus Frerrotte the same year in round 7. Frerrotte never seet the world on fire, of course (until this year  ) but he was much better than bust Shuler, and even made the pro bowl.

Other than Leinart and maybe Charlie Whitehurst, there are no decent QBS in this draft. TRADE FOR RIVERS.

We REALLY needed to get someone last year. That was a QB year. We had Orton sitting right there just like Brees was, and let him get away. Saban CANNOT afford to do that in the future. Great QB's are worth whatever you have to give for them.

If Saban doesn't go QB or WR with the first-round pick, or a trade, next year, we will not get past the 1st round of a playoff game for the remainder of ZT and JT's careers, so so much for the fantasy that defense wins championships. It can't win any championships that the OFFENSE can't get them to.

Remember, JJ selected 2 QB's in one year. Aikman and then Walsh (or was it Erickson, can't remember which, believe it was Walsh) in the supplemental draft. Aikman panned out and JJ traded the other QB for a 1st round pick, turned out really well for him. Of course, it helped that cowboys were so bad and had such a high pick. We won't have that luxury.

Not to take a personal jab, but 305...... what the crap did you say? Do me a favor and take that 305 off your name. Don't let anyone know you're from Miami, before people start thinking that we all speak in that illiteracy. And by the way, you first said we needed to draft a SS, and then when you got to the SS position you said, "we set"...??? Like I said, I didn't want to to take a personal jab at you, but you sure as hell asked for it.

Dats my two cents
