Most fans and media members in So.Fla. assume that the Fins are going to pick a QB in the first day of the draft. However, knowing how much BP loves smokescreens and having a Gator fan near me saying (more than once) that we should wait for Tim Tebow in '09, made me think, if indeed the Phins will draft a QB in the lower rounds or none at all and wait until next year.

So I ask those in FH with a better knowledge of college football,

- who (besides Tebow) is projected as a top caliber QB next season? (I really like Sam Bradford from Oklahoma, but he'll be only a sophomore) and,

- is the 2009 QB class projected to be better than the one this year?

Thank you in advance for the responses.

Unless Urban Meyer goes to the NFL and brings him gimmick offense, Tebow will never be a good NFL QB

Count me amongst those who don't see Tebow as a high level NFL prospect at QB.

I believe Sam Bradford will actually be a redshirt sophmore next year, not a true sophmore.

The only one at this stage is junior Stafford and its doubtful he comes out. If we dont fix our QB position (either drafting one or Beck developing into one) we may have to wait until 2010 before we can address it again.

I remember people said similar things about Donovan McNabb. Not that I'm disagreeing. I don't know much about Tebow to be honest.

i think if Tebow can learn to sit in the pocket longer, rather than take off running and run people over when a play breaks down,he could be a good NFL QB. he's got an arm on him from what i've seen of him,and he's also a QB with a Linebackers mentality. i just feel he needs to sit in the pocket a lil longer and wait on plays to develop before running.

I think Stafford is the only known possibility for next year's draft although I'm sure some others will emerge.

I don't think Tebow is likely to leave early. When he does leave he will be a much more developed passer than he is now. I think that anybody who is already declaring what Tebow will develop into is being very short-sighted. He has incredible skills and the intelligence and determination to maximize those skills. He may or may not develop but I wouldn't bet against him.

You draft a qb every year...thats my philosophy...

As a die hard Seminoles fan i think Tebow is a complete tool bag. But having said that he is a good college QB in that system, which does not in anyway mean he will be a good Pro QB. I wouldnt even be convinced that he will come out early unless there is talk he will be a top 10 pick.

But dont count out the QB's in next years class already. I definitely dont think it will be as great as this years class, but there is always some QB no one has heard of that has a breakout year and projects to the NFL well.

Wont Pat White and the guy form Missouri be coming out next season too?
(*Not in anyway saying Pat White would be anything higher than a backup in the NFL)

Anyone who thinks this QB class is weak, just wait until next year. It's much worse, and that's why it's so important that we address the QB position now while we have a chance. We could do much worse than Ryan if we wait....

I'm a huge Gator fan, but in regards to T. Tebow, I don't think he'll ever make the transition into the NFL. He's simply not NFL QB material....

IN TUNALAND WE TRUST!!!!!!

McNabb proved them right.

 I do think that may be a bit harch, he never reached the point of success he was expected to, and his injury problems have been rough on the Eagles, but he hasn't been too bad....at timeseven

The kid can throw a football through a brick wall. He reads defenses well. He has good accuracy.

I remember last year everyone said "We know he run but can he pass the ball" he proved those critics wrong.

He's smart enough to understand what it will ake for him to be successful in the NFL. He's being criticized because he can run. You'll see him running a lot less next year.

He's got all the tools Size, arm strength, and mobility.
