I was just kinda wondering if it would make any sense to draft McFadden, then try to trade him right away during the first round.
It seems like there are a lot of teams interested in him, but think Miami would never draft him, so they figure they can trade with teams picking after us. I bet some team would give up a nice deal to us in exchange for McFadden.

Perfect scenario would be to get Dallas' 2 picks. If Jerry Jones is considering doing something to get McFadden at all, he is probably thinking he could do it with teams picking after us.

I would even be willing to take a team's 1st and 2nd round pick for the exchange. Probably have them throw in a player too. Who knows? Just thinking out loud.

Really I just wish we would take J. Long.

The fact that it's a fairly decent RB class this year too might hurt the chances of doing this.

no, it would not make any sense. Once "we" possess him, we are stuck and at the mercy of all our trading partners... and we would rightfully be the laughingstock of the nfl.

Unless we have a sense that something could be worked out it would be a huge risk to just do on a hope that someone would trade with us.

If anyone does trade with us for McFadden, it would probably be Dallas. However there is rumor that Atlanta really wants to trade up to #1 for Ryan. I would prefer trading with Atlanta, because the moves us down to #3 and we still get one of the Longs. If we stay at #1, Jake Long will be the pick, but if we move down to #3, the Rams probably take Jake and we get Chris. If we do draft a RB, it wont be until the later rounds. I have been on the draft McFadden bandwagon since day 1, but I know its not going to happen.

McFadden is going to slip. He doesn't project well into the NFL. Nobody will even consider trading up for him.

He doesn't project well by who? You?

Don't give me that nonsense . . . McFadden is a fantastic RB . . . if he slips . . . its not because he doesn't "project" well to the NFL, its because this draft is LOADED - and RB is position that can be had later in the draft with much success . . . very deep RB class.

He is being mocked top 6 by everybody . . . experts don't mock people that high who "don't" project well to the NFL.

Because mock drafts are always right...

The knock on McFadden is that he has little lower body strength. He has long, thin legs, which will kill him in the NFL.

He's successful in college because he's fast enough to simply out run everyone. When you watch footage, you see he just sprints to the sideline and goes past everyone. He rarely breaks solid tackles. In the NFL, you can't outrun defenders, they are too fast. You have to be able to change direction well and break tackles, neither of which McFadden is good at.

I think u are reading TOO much into things . . . and no obviously mocks aren't always right . . . and u always have busts . . . but u said "project", u don't MOCK a player who doesn't "project" well to the NFL, in the top 6 of every mock draft. The reason why a RB like Ray Rice is mocked like for the 3rd or 4th round . . . is because he doesn't project as well to the NFL as the kid from Oregon . . . even tho Rice has put up better and more beastly numbers the past 2 years.

McFadden not good at breaking tackles? Not able to change direction well? Compared to who? Gimme a break, stop reading every prospect profile and analyzing the negatives that these so called "experts" pick out . . . just like the ones projecting Jake Long as a RT, and the public feeds into that BS . . . when the kid gave up 2 sacks in 4 years, and 2 penalties in 4 years AT Left TAckle. . . u are kidding yourself if u don't think McFadden "isn't" the best RB in this draft . . . I'm not saying he is AP, because he is the best RB I possibly ever seen in college his Freshman year, but his injuries were too scary . . . but McFadden is the real deal man . . . obviously there is no guarantee on almost any player, but McFadden IMO is as sure of a starting stud RB as u will find in any draft. That not Project well nonsense is really hilarious.

Not Going to Happen. Matty ICE is the pick. ICE ICE BABY everytime he steps on the field.

Matty Ice is going to be the pick I can feel it coming. The tuna is not giving away his hand.

I don't see us picking a guy that will freeze everytime on the field.:winkwink:

eather we trade down with Dallas or we just Keep the #1 spot and take Chris Long because i really dont think JT will be here much Longer

First of all, I don't regurgitate what other people say. I come to my own conclusions. I watch a good amount of football. I looked up highlights of McFadden, and I watch him run. It takes him forever to change direction (compared to average running backs), he doesn't cut well. He runs straight up-right like a sprinter. And he has toothpicks for legs. He has no explosiveness when he runs, he just sprints full speed and outruns everyone.

His speed and success in college is what is keeping his stock up right now. And teams will be willing to draft him high just because of his rediculous speed. They think they can coach him into running the right way, and they can buff him up. And maybe they can, but I wouldn't bet on it working out very well.
