NFL is going to come down HARD on the Saints. for the Bounty they were paying their players to hurt people. IMO Brees may think twice about sticking around, not to mention any other players that might try a little retaliation for past games. So unless they put the franchise tag on him he may think it is time to go.

Brees could care less. I don't think he's so naive that he was completely unaware his defensive teammates were playing bounty ball.

If they lose the tag, all it does is take away New Orleans' biggest bargaining chip. Brees is getting paid, all they are trying to figure out is how much. Taking away the tag only ensures that Brees gets a deal closer to what he wants as opposed to what the Saints want. He is not going to hit the open market, no point in even pretending like it's an option...

Even if Goodell issues some kind of punishment, which would surprise me, I can't see how it would be taking away the franchise tag. I believe Monday is the last day that teams can use the tag, so Goodell would need to do it immediately. Not gonna happen.

I didn't realize that Dave Wannstadt and Nick Saban were still with the organization. Brees is a grown up and knows that this is a different organization than it was 5 yrs ago. Who on this current team would he have a grudge against?
