I say this every year - but anyone giving hot takes on rookie quarterbacks are the first people you have to stop paying attention too. Much less after their first preseason game.
Although I will say that I watched a little bit of Drew Lock in his first preseason game against the Falcons and he didn't look good at all. I thought his coach Vic Fangio summed it up best when he said, "I was hoping for more, but I'm not surprised"...
Lock did finally manage to throw his first TD pass of the preseason last night with about 3 minutes left in the game against 4th string camp bodies. Which he quickly followed up by throwing an interception on his next drive to those same camp bodies. I thought the most interesting thing about that game was Paxton Lynch playing well against his former team. I believe the Dolphins had Lynch in for a workout late last year.
All these rookie QB's need to be going out and throwing interceptions in the preseason. You learn more from those than you do from trying not to make mistakes.
