Drey Bly, Chris Mcallister, Phillip Buchannan, Still Available

bryant mcfadden, leigh bodden, ron bartell are also available.

Whichever of these guys is best on man to man...ill take.

I think we should go after McFadden. He played on a great defense, I know, but all my Steelers buddies do not want Pittsburgh to let this guy go.

We need to remember....despite what the pundits and media say, free agency is longer than 4 days. The key signings take place a week or two into Free Agency. The difference between this year and last is we are a whole lot better with much fewer holes to plug. We HAD to jump on some FAs lat year to ensure we have some areas of need addressed. We will sign a corner but dont let the fact that we havent yet discourage you.

There are still plenty of good corners on the market. I think our front office was smart by not overpaying like a majority of teams did this weekend. Now is when you will start seeing some good value's. Leigh Boddon.

One thing I would be pretty sure of at this stage is that a CB will be a high priority in the draft. Would say one of our 1st three picks will be a CB. I would'nt be against bringing in a veteren CB like McCallister or Bly as long as we draft one in the 1st or 2nd round.

Emerald is probably right. I'm guessing we'll bring in a seasoned, but not too seasoned vet to play CB spot for a season or two, but someone who can help our younger guys, including whomever we draft this/next year at the spot as well. Kind of how/why they brought Penny in to do. A caretaker for a year or two while they mentor somebody else to eventually take over. They just don't want to rush to overpay like so many other teams obviously are doing.

i would rather OVER PAY and have a guy come in and strengthen a position
and actually start and help us win than CONTINUALLY waiting for the last
guy's price to drop where he comes in and sees maybe 4 games of action
[because he is "quality depth"] or he rides the pine because he was a free agent
that teams didnt want and COULDNT PLAY and THATS WHY he was left over and
didnt cost much.

4 days? 2 days? a month? i dont care how long free agency supposedly is! i am
tired of the first question ALWAYS being "for how much"?

how about "can he play"? "can he start?" "is he better than what what we have?"

its an over paying market. for EVERYONE! so if you want the real talent [like the giants and pats and jets and broncos and chiefs] you have to go get them!!!!

i think last years 11 wins went to the trifectas heads.

yeah because how many time have the skins, jets, hell the raiders broncos, and even cowboys won a championship by overspending and using your theory o that is right they havent

ill take bodden, bartell, or buchannon... i realy havnt studied film on these guys but from what i know they are pretty good, and not to old like bly or mcalister

Drayton FLorence, Shawn Springs and Jabari Greer. The market has alot of talent at corner so we shall see what happens. Chris Carr and Corey Ivy are also out there as well.

11 wins without breaking the bank for last years big FA's. Didn't the Jets get the big Olineman? Or the Raiders get the big CB? Did either make the playoffs?
There is a system this FO follows. Its tested and tried. When Parcells left Dallas, he left them in better cap and talent then what he inherited. Now because of a 11 win season, you must assume that the next move should be to forget those tested and tried methods and to blow the bank. This FO is for value. And C Brown had a certain value to this FO. Was it too high for this FO, yes. And now the Rams have a C at a pretty high price tag, that no other team in the NFL thought was worth that high price tag.

I would think McFadden or Bodden would be the choices based on their experience in 3-4 defenses.
