What do you notice about the touchdown drive compared to all of the other drives? I see one long touchdown drive in which there's just one play run from the shotgun, and then a lot of ineffective drives that all feature shotgun sets. This offense needs to be run from under center. This offense is flat out better when we are running it under center. It is bizarre to me that guys who are paid millions of dollars for a living with years of NFL coaching experience can't see that.
Genuinely curious to see what some others think here.
 
Totally agree and think its unfathomable that the coaching staff doesn't recognize how bad this offense is in shotgun.

We are much more effective w the threat of the run, running from shotgun was a disaster..

I think we also need to run more play action.

What do you notice about the touchdown drive compared to all of the other drives? I see one long touchdown drive in which there's just one play run from the shotgun, and then a lot of ineffective drives that all feature shotgun sets. This offense needs to be run from under center. This offense is flat out better when we are running it under center. It is bizarre to me that guys who are paid millions of dollars for a living with years of NFL coaching experience can't see that.

We also run the ball pretty well out of the Pistol. I remember that we were gashing the Saints with runs out of the Pistol and then just kind of stopped (after we got stuffed on the 4th and 1). The Pistol, though, is kind of like a compromise between shotgun and under center.

Anyway, good call. I'm hoping that Sherman sees it as well as some of the posters here.
 
Agreed and I know you and others have pointed out..in the game thread also..why did it take Sherman all this time to adjust and get Yeatman on the field before RT got broken in half? Garner got on the field because of an injury and not a coaching move. How many more times do we need to see him do the same thing on third and short..He is stubborn, alot of coaches are. So do I think we will see more shotgun....Yup.
