now that the draft has finished for miami the number of problems for the team has decreased significantly but holes are still there. below is an overview of each position.

QB
dante culpepper asuming that his knee is by the start of the season is exactly what miami are looking for. very skilled qb who has an amazingly strong arm. the only problem with our QB situation is back ups. will lemon and berlin be able to cope with the pressure if culpepper goes out injured.

RB

with ronnie brown likley to get the majority of the hand offs this year there is no ned to be worried about this position he is a solid rusher and i believe that he will really shine this year now that rickky is gone for the season. our backups are not the best backups in the league but they are skilled enough to give ronnie the support he needs. morris minor and kj are all talented RBs and KJ could possibly more through the ranks this year and could also get the chance to show his skills behind ronnie.

FB

With the addition of fred beasly from the niners miami have this place set for the season. he is one of the best in the league and has great hands so will he a huge help for culpepper. he will also supply support for ronnie with his solid run blocking.

WR
Pre draft, maimis wrs were running a little thin. with only booker and chambers who contributed regularly last season maimi had to do something to bring more depth to the wr core. this was done in style when miami drafted Derek Hagan in the 3rd and Devon Aromashodu, a steal in the 7th round. derek has the ability to be a solid #1 reciever but with chambers he is more likley to become a great #2. Devon is a deep ball threat and also a top kick returner and will probibly replace welker on KRs. both rookie recievers will have to work their way up the roster. Chris is also coming off a pro bowl season and with the addition of culpepper he could have an absolutly huge year. wes has become a dangerous 3rd rown reciever always able to get open and get yards after the catch. booker may be getting old but he is loosing nothing leading the team in average yards gained per play.

TE
we are set at tight end with 3 solid players. most of all is mcmichael who became under used towards the end of last season mainly because of chris chambers showning he had stacks of skill. also his blocking has improved so he has become an all round better player. backing him up is peele and teyo johnson. bow tes are riddled with potential and have also showed some skills already in there courier.

offensive linemen

last year our oline started showing potential and now with the adition of LJ shelton they should start to control the line of scrimmage. with the aquisition of pearson and toledo who will try and make an impact this year and alabi who will be trying to get some playing time this year the o line can only get stronger. there are still positions which still remain uncertain in the o line this year but it is a huge improvement of previous years.

DE
you cant mention our defensive ends with out talking about jason taylor. he has played most of the last two seasons with injuries yet he has still compiled over 20 sacks in these two years. with other veterans holliday and carter who can play both end and tackle miami again look to have a strong front four. also with mat roth and david bowens providing solid backup rolls and also the possibility of roth progressing to starter.

DT as i mentioned before holliday and carter are both able to play at tackle but ther are many youngsters which they might have to fight with for the job. with manny wright showing that he was worth the 5th round pack this year and with vickerson showing great potential in pre season the starting choice could be interesting this year. also with the bargin of Rodrique Wright in the 7th round he could be a contributing factor.

OLB
it was a supprise that this year miami picked 0 OLBs especially beacuse it is one of miamis weakest positions. but miami have there 3rd round steal from last year with channing crowder who is developing into a solid OLB. i was rather supprised with nick saban not taking chad greenway in the 1st round especially becuse i thought he was in the top ten. there will be a three way battle for the starting job this year between pope hodge and spragan all of which have the posibility of developing into a starter.

MLB
miami is pretty set for this year with zach thomas still putting big hits on every one. but he isnt getting any younger so miami should start looking for someone to work there way up into the position in the next few years.

CB
With the signing of will allen and with will poole declaring himself fit for this year our CBs will be a great improvement on last year. Also travis daniels has showed improvement and will be battling with poole for the starting job. In addition to this miami drafted a very versatile DB who can play saftey or corner. Jason allen is a solid coverage guy who will probibly end up at saftey but there is always a possibility that he will end up at corner

S
there are many possibilities for the saftey positions this year with the aquisition of Renaldo Hill and Deke Cooper; travis tillman and yeramiah bell showing great improvement last year; and with the drafting of jason allen so the starting positions are less than set in stone. this is another one of miamis problem areas.

KR
with the aquisition of Devon Aromashodu wes welkers job is under threat. but i dont thaink that he will mind this because wes is primarily our PR and 3rd down slot reciever

PR
Most likley to happen is that wes will stay on the Punt returns mainly because is a great punt returner

K
for now it looks like mare is going to be doing the kicking this year but miamis other option is Ola Kimrin. the way i see it is that if mare stays then he wil kick
P
donnie jones will look to have a nother solid season like last year

The only problem positions this year are DBs and OLBs. hopefully someone will step up and fill these positions

great post...i think we are pretty well set at the secondary though,
#1 saban is a secondary coach
#2 although we dont have many veterans in the secondary, we have alot of young studs.
i think OLB is our biggest need as of now, i look for saban to add someone over the summer, i think we look pretty tough for next year.

Ya QB situation doesnt mention Harrington which IMO will happen. If we have Lemon and Berlin to rely on then we are screwed and thats being kind!
Dont worry. Saban WILL NOT let Lemon and Berlin be our only options. Culpepper will be our next QB hero after Dan.

We could maybe use another LB...we are ok with Zach and Crowder....but Seau is gone....this might be an area to add a nice FA.

DB's shud not be a prob now with Allen drafted.

Is Keith Traylor signed? My buddy told me he was today for 2 years.

all we have to do is finish the harrington deal and get a solid OLB and were set, right now i feel werre already good enuf for the playoffs but adding harrington and a OLB would make the playoffs certain

we should try to sign olb's brian iwuh and spencer havner, mlb's cameron vaughn and kai parham, de's mike kudla and eric henderson, cb's anwar philips and charles gordon, safetys dwayne slay, greg threat and scott ware and rb andre hall... then we will see who can make it to the roster and fill in some more depth...

we will be a force to be recond with if we sort out our OLBs all we need is some good UDFAs

I think we are ready minus an OLB.If we clean up the cap a bit and sign a free-agent OLB after some cuts are made,we will be ready to contend with anybody.
