Dumb & Dumber are being played.....

Fisher might just be doing his due diligence and finalizing the details or we could have a Nick Saban situation on our hands. Has everyone forgot how Huizenga's jet idled on the tarmac for hours as Saban mulled the Fins' offer? The guy couldn't make up his mind. It too was an overly impressive presentation that managed to convince a guy who really didn't want to come here to come here. Now we have Jeff Fisher who may have been bowled over by Ross's presentation doing a similar number. Should I sign on that dotted line or should I not? On the one hand the Rams have a potential franchise quarterback on their roster. On the other you've got potential franchise instability that could result in the Rams moving back to LA, then again, Fisher is a SoCal guy to begin with and might welcome returning to LA, possibly as a conquering hero. Then again the Dolphins are the sexier franchise in the sexier city, then again, the franchise is so far removed from its iconic status it might as well be the Jags. Sometimes you can roll out all the bells and whistles. You can wine and dine a guy. You can show him the neon on South Beach. Take him for a cruise on your mega-yacht and wow him, but that's just temporary blindness. He's got to really want to be here. Now we don't know that he doesn't want to be here, but if this drags on much longer it wouldn't be absurd to question Fisher's motives.

I'm already beginning to question his motives.

I've been hard on Ross in a lot of threads, but you can't blame him for his efforts in this situation. Fisher was his man from the very beginning and he went after him hard. It's not over yet.

Funny to quote one story from a website and ignore the other story that states the exact opposite on the same site.

1/Fisher negotiations could be about money and title.

2/Lombardi:Fisher likely to choose the Dolphins

Nick Saban actually won a championship when we went all in for him. I could see this being a little less aggravating if it were for Cowher or Gruden, but its for a coach who hasn't won anything and been out the game for a year. The ends don't justify the means.

Saban's college title had far less value than Fisher's being a yard away from a Super Bowl title. Fisher has a far better chance of winning a championship with the Dolphins then Gruden or Cowher would. Super Bowl winners elsewhere don't win championships the second time around. Super Bowl losers have won championships elsewhere. It's a limited sample, but it's the best we have. Both Cowher and Gruden have been away from the game longer than Fisher. It looks to me at this point Fisher is just using the Dolphins for leverage and the offer should be pulled. He should have been given a time constraint, but we don't really know what's happening because the media reports are all over the place and in many instances contradictory.
