Why can't fat guys play QB? I mean, it's obvious why you need a running back, wide receiver, or any other position to have a certain build. Why couldn't someone (built like a lineman) play at QB? If he played with an o-line like the one we have, maybe he could take the pounding a little better.

I know, dumb question.

Well the "Hefty Lefty" from U of Kentucky could play. Culpepper is not small by any stretch!

Jared Lorenzen got drafted, played for KEntucky, it can be done, but you need to at least have a little bit of athletic ability to play the position...

He was in camp with the Giants, but i dont think he made the roster...

What was that dude name that played at Kentucky last year.......Jared Lorenzen or something.......he was pretty fat.

He weighed in upwards of 275 lbs, close to 300 at one point i believe...

I stand corrected, he wasnt drafted.....

Little or no mobility, the mechanics of throwing a pass would be quite different for a "fat" person, and the added wear and tear on the knees and ankles all come to mind immediately. I'm sure there are quite a few other reasons that will pop as more people respond.

Jared Lorezen is a big guy. I have a great amount of respect for him after the Arkansas/Kentucky 7 overtime game. He was actually very good considering his size.

wasn't there an overweight QB in projected to go in the drafts this last year? i don't think he did.... (i am assuming this isn't the guy everyone's already mentioned).

I would doubt that we'd see many cornerbacks blitzing if Jamie Nails was slinging the rock.

Problem is, if Jamie Nails was playing QB, he would be liable to eat the Pigskin and cause us to forfeit. :fatman:

Mostly because with all the BBQ sauce and melted chocolate on there hands it makes it hard to throw the football:lol:

Rohan Davey is another large QB that is number 2 on the Patriots depth chart. He a touch larger than McNabb but not quite as big as Culpepper.

theres 50-something o-lineman in the nfl hall of fame that weighed less in their prime than culpepper currently does

Culpepper is a quarterback in a linebackers body.He is a big boy but he is also a fumbler. Its more important to have agility than a big body at QB.
