Last Night's dunk contest was the best I have seen since 2000, where Vince Carter went nuts.

Last night was crazy, because Dwight Howard and Gerald Green just simply put on a show. The birthday cake, Superman, bouncing it off of the opposite side of the backboard, and all the other shananigans were in a word...breathtaking. It is really great to see the contest back.
 
The dunk where Dwight lobbed it in the air and bounced it off the ground... caught it with his left hand... dribbled it off the backboard... and caught it with his right hand and then dunked it...


Absolutly insane...
 
i dont get the superman one. i love dwight. and his other 3 dunks were incredible. off the back of the back board being my favorite. but the superman one he didnt even dunk it. he got high though.

You are missing the point. If he wanted to dunk it, he would have taken off 1.5 feet closer. For him to get airborne that high and throw it threw is beyond sick for a man his size!!!:woot:

but isnt that what a dunk contest is suppose to consist of? dunks?
 
Dwight could jump up there grap that cupcake and take a bite and put it back while dunking the ball.

 Actually, you both are missing the point... lol ;)

Dwight was supposed to dunk from there. You can see him take off from that spot near the end of this video...

It was a bad pass... Nelson threw it behind him. Had it been a good pass, he dunks that.

Technically, they should have made him do it again... but it didnt matter. The crowd was going insane when he slammed it through... and it was over.


But it doesnt really matter, b/c he definatly would have got more than a 41 on the 2nd attempt(which is all he needed to advance to the 2nd round)... if not perfect 10's... b/c its not like he messed up on the first dunk, it was a bad pass.


But being high enough to throw it down like that is rediculous in itself!

Either way, he had the best dunks in the contest. The 1st and 3rd were absolutly crazy... some of the best I've ever seen. And if he actually got a good pass from Nelson, I might have had to include the Superman one as well just for the creativity...
 
His hang time on the dunk where he grabbed it from the miniature Orlando hoop was insane. He stayed in the air a loooooong time.

I think thats why i dont like the Dunk contest any more. To me it never seems to be a close battle between two great Dunkers, like a Jordan-Dominique or even Dominique-Spud Webb. It's usually just one guy destroying the other guys.

it was a good Dunk Contest but there was no way any body was going to win besides Howard what he did was almost unreal
