Since there are so many trade treads being posted and the rumors of trades. I figure I would post some stats on one of the names being thrown around and I didn't see a tread dedicated after my search. If there is please merge.

I am not speculating on the probability or the need, I am merely posting facts.

College Scouting Report:

WR - Dwayne Bowe, LSU

Height: 6-2
Weight: 221
40 yard dash: 4.53
Grade: 90

Strengths:
Dwayne Bowe has the potential to be a legit #1 WR in the NFL. Bowe is a physical specimen and uses his athletic talents to get open on a regular basis. Dwayne Bowe was the #1 target for the potential #1 overall pick in this years draft, QB JaMarcus Russell, and they hooked up on many an occasion. At the Senior Bowl, Bowe moved up the draft board when he dominated opposing CBs in individual drills and left a indelible impression on scouts and GMs.
Weaknesses:
Bowe had a rather up and down career at LSU. He never seemed to dominate as one would expect. With the #1 QB prospect at the helm and with two top 10 WR prospects (Bowe and teammate Craig Davis) its hard to fathom why the Tigers did not dominate offensively in the SEC. Bowe only broke the 100 yard receiving mark in two games in ’06, and he only broke the century mark in four games his ENTIRE career at LSU. So, although all aspects of his game point to continued success and the next level, his past performances have not always dictated this, at least not statistically.
Overall:
In the right situation, with the right franchise Dwayne Bowe has a bright future in front of him. He has all the physical tools and attributes for an offensive coaching staff to utilize and to mold in to a Pro Bowl WR. As long as Bowe does not rest on his laurels and continues to work, future success is in the cards.

NFL Career

2007 ---- 995 yards, 14.2 ave, 5TD
2008 ---- 1,022 yards, 11.8 ave, 7TD
2009 ---- 181 yards, 12.1 ave, 3TD

For what its worth.

LSU's offense isnt built around 1 star. I watch a lot of their games. They are deep and rarely allow for their players to post gaudy stats week after week. They got it done with a lot of diff players and packages. As do we. He would be great for our team. He would put up his numbers but also open coverage for all the other players and the run game.

But why would the Chiefs trade Bowe ? He is a young talented player, and their best offensive player.. Teams who are rebuilding like the Chiefs are don't trade away those types.

They would trade him though if a team really overpays by a lot. And we are not in the position to do that.

We are not a WR away from being a super bowl contender. We still have holes... especially on defense with our OLB's getting old, need to also replace Jason Ferguson at NT (it could be Soliai there if he keeps improving), and need a Safety and an ILB..

It also wouldn't hurt to get a very athletic pass catching TE for Henne.. Fasano and Haynos are nice blockers, but they are not athletic enough in the passing game (like an Antonio Gates, Gonzalez, Dallas Clark, or a Jason Witten).

They had J.Russell as a QB! That means if Bowe had an actually QB he may have every record in the world of colloege football, lol. JR is a terrible QB and held whose guys back from being more explosive in their college careers.

I am just posting facts not speculation or opinion on Bowe. It is only an FYI.

NT is my number one concern at this point too. The Draft is thin at NT this year and so is free agency in 2010.

ILB is a must because Crowder in not a LB you want anchoring the 3-4.

WR is third on my list with a larger body receiver with some speed. Trading the farm for one isn't smart either.

Safety in my opinion can be addressed late in the draft or via waver next year.

Bowe is really good and miami needs to make a trade for him to put us over the top and it we have a high pick in the draft next year we can draft eather Taylor Mays or Eric Berry to sure up our secondary

The thing is there will be a lot of talent in the 2010 draft. It's a fantastic draft. The rookie wage scale for the new CBA will kick in at the 2011 draft. So the 2010 draft will see tons of very taalented under-classmen coming out.....A lot more than usual.

Here's the thing:

If we can pick up Bowe for a 3rd and Roth (don't know why the Chiefs would do that), We'd really only have to address NT, ILB, and Safety. At that point, I say you go best player available. If - say - Cody is available when we're drafting in the 1st, and after him there's a huge drop off, he might be the player to go after. That said, if Spikes, Mays, or Berry are available and the same can be said, then you might go ILB or Safety.

well, our offense would be solved IMO. Wildcat, great RB's, QB who looks amazing, one of the best Olines, decent TE's and great WR's (bowe, ginn (would be great opposite true #1) and bess or hartline or cam.

then use the 1st on MLB (spikes or Mcclain hopefully) and a 3rd on a TE if we dnt like anyone or a S prospect with high upside..

that would basically leave us pretty set, next draft we could draft something like OLB in 1st ILB 2nd depth the rest.

our offense would not have a hole if we did this. also, our oldest player would be our center (grove at 29)

i think solia could step it up and solve NT. that would leave us S

Yeh I agree on talent and the 2010 draft. I am all for keeping picks for next year. If you look at the DL available thou, not too good for the 3-4.

Suh is small at 6-4 302,
Jones is smaller yet
Terrence Mount Cody is a monster at 6-4, 365 but I watched the Bama game just to see him play. I was not impressed he needs better work ethic and is comparable to a less talented Rogers.

Not sure how we address the NT next year.

Good point, and one that argues for keeping your picks. On the other hand, if you wanted to trade for a player, you could argue that your offered draft pick carries higher than normal value because of the loaded talent in the next draft.

For the life of me i can't figure out the orgasm surrounding D.Bow or even A. boldin.

First D.Bow based on the stats the OP put up how much more "elite" is he than tedd ginn? seriously objectively?,, he's a more physical receiver, certainly not faster,, i watch him at LSU and saw a few KC games, the guy had one year really "noticeable" year thats it same goes for boldin. I don't get it were not talking about

A.Johnson---speed, size,physical
R.moss---speed,size,physical
T.O--speed,size,physical
B.Edwards---speed,size,physical

the guys above have all three dimensions..legit #1, no question about it!

Someone please once and for all tell me what I'm not seeing objectively?

When a name gets thrown out there as nice to have, it spreads like a wildfire through this place.

these are the # that are so unattainable for ginn

2007 ---- 995 yards, 14.2 ave, 5TD
2008 ---- 1,022 yards, 11.8 ave, 7TD
