According to football's future, a mock draft website, the Dolphins will look to draft a DB at #9. I vehemently disagree. If Dwayne Jarrett is available at #9, you take over Brian Brohm or any other potential player. I don't want Patrick Willis or Alan Branch if they're available. Among the players whom I think have the greatest chance to succeed in the NFL are Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Jarrett. If either one of those players are available at #9, you either take them or trade down for more draft picks.

Dwayne Jarrett is among the most impressive WR prospects I've seen since Andre Johnson. I'd give the nod to Johnson because he has 4.3 speed versus Jarrett's 4.4 speed but either player is going to be a great upgrade versus the WR's the Dolphins currently have.

Other players I'd like the Dolphins to consider:

Trent Edwards (QB)
Lorenzo Booker (RB)
Arron Sears (OL)
Earl Everett (LB)
Brandon Meriweather (DB)
Tom Zbikowski (DB)
Paul Williams (WR)

Your thoughts?

i would love to have either jarrett or johnson....those are my top 2 picks right now.....im still a believer in our qb situation and feel that we can address positions such as o line and defense later in the draft or via free agency......im a fan of your suggestion

IF Jarrett runs a 4.4 then yes we should take him at #9. Since he usually runs in the mid 4.5s to low 4.6...similar to former USC standout Mike Williams, I'm not so sure.

I don't want to slander anyone but my girlfriend said it best when it comes to Jamarcus Russell. Her and I are both football fans and we watched the Sugar Bowl together. She knew Brady Quinn would play poorly because of the "look in eyes, he's scared," kind of evaluations. She loves mobile QB's but she took one look at Jamarcus Russell and said, "wow, he looks dumb as rocks. But he definitely has the physical tools..." They way she said it, so matter of factly and definitively that I almost sprayed my beer out my nose! I wish him the best in the NFL but Russell makes me nervous. I'd rather have Calvin Johnson than Russell. If Johnson can make Reggie Ball, a terrible QB, seem at least decent, then I want Johnson and Culpepper playing together.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. That'd be huge waste IMO. Not only are Brohm, Branch, and Willis better players but they are bigger needs.

meh, jarrett doesn't really look that good as an NFL prospect.

:yeahthat:
