The Eagles have fired Tom Gamble, VP of player personnel. It may be announced as “parting ways” with Gamble but it is what it is.

Ross tried to get him last year (http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...agles-vice-president-of-player-personnel.html) but he didn't want the job with all the uncertainty.

I know there is still a crush period with Hickey, but I think I'd go get this guy and let him pick an HC, he might even go with the in-house Lazor since they worked together in Philly.

Nope. We have continuity.

I cannot type that without gagging.

Damn it!!!!

I like Hickey but, Gamble is a no brainer. We have to bring him in in some kind of capacity.

You guys are going to give yourselves an ulcer. (Hayden, you probably already have one)

Ross announced early so that this type of speculation didn't happen and the GM and Coach could focus on improving the coaching staff and the team. Despite all the conspiracy theories about Michigan, I honestly believe that was his goal.

Regardless of whether you like either of these two in their current roles, Ross did them a great service by taking the media out of play regarding job security for either guy.

Now, hopefully Joe is busy reviewing DC candidates and Hickey is working on possible free agent acquisitions.

I can't understand the move by Philadelphia unless Gamble wanted out and just didn't care if he got another job or not. I agree with the OP I would blow up Hickey and go after Gamble offering him full control. But I am a fool for even thinking something like this could happen in our franchise.

Seems like it was a power play by GM Howie Roseman...

The exit of Gamble seems to solidify the power of general manager Howie Roseman. Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie gave a strong vote of confidence in support of Roseman immediately following the 2014 season.

That's crazy talk. Too much logic involved.

Half of the people wanting Gamble don't realize Philly's team isn't loaded with a anything.

Let's get him though.
