Please, no flaming in this topic. I don't care about how much you hate one player, these are all great athletes and players, including Terrell Owens.

These are the biggest names of the offseason. Some like Daunte, Terrell, and Edgerrin James have moved to new teams and are likely to change their franchise around with their incredible playmaking abilitiy. Others like Carson Palmer and Larry Johnson have brokethrough after a nice groom job, and are bound to improve as the years go by. And there are still some, who can make a difference like Steve McNair with the Ravens.

Edgerrin James is my favorite to win the MVP award. To me, I picture this just like the Nash vs Shaq MVP race in 2004-2005.

Daunte is placed in a team who just finished having a solid year, just like in the NBA when Shaq came in after the Heat had a solid year and Dwyane brokethrough as a rookie in the 2003-2004 playoffs.

As for Edge, he is in a team who has shown promise to have a high power offense with Bolden and Fitzgerald, but still had the running game missing, the running game sets everything up, which makes alot of difference in how the games are determined. Just like Nash who was placed in a team that already had Marion and Stoudamire, but they needed someone to set things up offensively.

Just a little ironic that huge stars like Daunte and Edge are trying to change their franchises around in their cities (Miami and Phoenix) just like Nash and Shaq did for those same cities.

Im not trying to flame or bash him but there is no way TO will win MVP

1- His attitude wont get him votes

2- Just like the Heisman WR is probally THE toughest position to win MVP at (besides O-line and kicker maybe )

Id say Manning, Larry Johnson, Carson Palmer, Ladanian Tomlinson, Shaun Alexander

Those are my top picks

Well the regular season MVP award pretty much is already on Peyton Manning's shelf for the next 3 or 4 years. How you left him off your list just baffles me. But I don't want to be boring and say Manning, so I'll take Larry Johnson. What he did in the 9 games he started last year was simply amazing and I think he will be able to do that over a 16 game stretch. If not for his injury in the playoffs last year, I'd take Carson Palmer, the soon to be best player in the NFL.

Steve Smith

You should know better than anyone its EXTREMELY hard for a WR to win the MVP award

What kind of year will Steve Smith need when Harrison didnt get it in his record year?

 okay I admit thats a really good answer

But seriously he will need an AMAZING year to do it, if there is any WR that can its him, but its not easy QB's and RB's get all the MVP glory unfortunatly :nono:

My pic is Larry Johnson... I'd love to see Brown or Culpepper as the MVP 2006, though

Manning should pile up some sick numbers thru the air with the loss of James . . doesn't mean the Colts will be better, but Manning will have to carry more of the load. He would be the favorite IMO. But if Larry Johnson puts up even remotely close numbers to what he was doin last year, it will be his. I don't like Shaun to repeat, but he has to get some attention if he has a repeat season. LT is always a candidate . . and he may be busier than ever this season . . iono so many tuff choices, but those 4 stand out among everybody else.

He would be my candidate as well, however, the loss of Edge will be felt in Indy, defenses will focus much more on the passing attack and Harrison doesn't get any younger. Therefore, i think Manning's gona slow down a bit and the Colts will win about 10...
MVP goes to Larry, he's only getting started, and that O-Line is incredible.

If Carson Palmer can somehow manage play the whole season, I think he has a great shot at MVP. He has a great supporting cast so the only question is wheter he can bounce back from injury.

I am a bit of a Cowboys fan, and I don't really give TO much of a shot at the MVP. He will simply not get the ball enough to be a serious canidate, unless he just scores a ridiculous amounts of touchdowns.

I could see LJ doing it, but I would not put it past Shaun Alexander again either.
