For folks who like to play "guess the pick" the East West Shriners bowl is on right now, I notice J. Rivers from Hawaii the Wr is playing..:woot:

Thanks for the head's up on this. Keller is at QB...he was pretty good at ASU before he transferred to Nebraska.

My High School FB Jerome Felton is playing so I am rooting for him

Anthony M from Penn State is the East Starting QB, not bad.

Looking forward to seeing Cory Boyd RB EC

Duane ??? OT from Va Tech as well.

The OL for the east, Howard, is supposed to be one of the guys whose stock is rising.

The BC safety Silva is considered to stiff to be drafted early, but he just makes plays at 5'9 and 208...

I'm keeping my eye on:

Jonathan Goff
Frank Okam
Kendall Langford
Caleb Cambell
Dwight Lowery

Excuse my ignorance, I`m a foreigner, can anybody explain please what the game means, and its importance towards the draft? Thanx:up:

whats their #'s and sides plz.

Goff is #47 for the East

Okam is #97 for the East

Langford is #98 for the East (I think)

No idea what # or who Caleb Campbell plays for or wears...

Certainly, the game itself means very little, it is a Former College Football Player all star game.

The players are all prospects for the NFL draft this April, where NFL teams hire new young players to come in and try to make the team.

If we are going to get better, we need younger players Ticophin and we watch the game to see if any of these players become Miami Dolphins.

I'm not much of a college football buff so I can't tell you the history of the game, but the players in this game are all showcasing themselves for the upcoming draft.

Tico.. it is an "allstar" game. It allows us, and the scouts to watch them all week in practice, and of course during the game, playing against (hopefully) kids as good as them. Just another way to evaluate the showcased talent.

this is from the official site;

The East West Shrine Game is All About Kids!

The East West Shrine Game has never been "just another football game". The Shrine Game is the Premier All-Star Game in America, and has a long history of distinguished players and coaches in the Game.

But that's not what makes it "Football's Finest Hour." What makes the Shrine Game so special is its true purpose - helping to support Shriners Hospitals for Children. Every year since 1925, the Shrine Game has been played to raise money and to help make the public aware of the expert orthopedic and burn care available, at NO cost, at all 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children.

To date, the game has raised more than $14 million for Shriners Hospitals and has helped inform millions of people about the mission of this extraordinary philanthropy. The Shrine represents many things: good times, camaraderie, and tradition. But what really binds together the more than 500,000 Shriners nationwide is an attitude of caring.
