Look guys I endured a 1-15 record last year and I keep hearing people saying that the fins have a favorable schedule, when do the football gods determine that? do they go by the other teams records from the previous year or is this some sort of fuzzy math that they keep evaluating throughout the season? Arizona 8-6, the jets 9-5, New england 9-5, Baltimore 9-5, the fins struggle to put games away even the game they win because everyone is new in the organiztion, just because you have a winning record doesn't make you betterthan the other team until it is decided on the field. So football gods stop anoiting teams before they have some history of winning games.

It's a standard formula applied to each team. Teams rotate playing an NFC division, an AFC division, their own division home-home of course, and the AFC teams from the divisions not on the schedule who finished in the same place in their division(last) as the Dolphins did. We just happened to be in line for rotation with 2 bad divisions(NFC West and AFC West). Next year, our rotation is NFC SOuth(brutal) and AFC South(brutal). So what goes around comes around.

so far in the league we've had the 4th easiest schedule
the jets, cardinals and i would guess 49ers have had easier ones..

Based on schedule we could win only 7 games next year and actually be a better team. Our schedule this year was easy. Not trying to tear down what the Fins have done, just keeping it in perspective.

easy schedules are overblown. fact is, most teams with good records every year have easy schedules. it's just not that easy for a team to win a ton of games facing brutal teams week in and week out. just win the games on Sundays and that's all that matters.

Good point other than the Steelers this year if you have a good record you more than likely have 4 or 5 "easy games"

this year:

Titians: Jags (2), Cincinnati, KC, GB, Browns, Lions

Giants: Rams, Cincinnati, Seattle, 49ers, Browns (loss)

Cards: rams (2), 49ers (2), Seattle (2)

Broncos: Oakland (2), KC (2), Browns

That's just a few division leaders EVERYONE has "easy games" still have to win them to be a champion.

Dolphins: Bills (2) 49ers, seahawks, rams, raiders, chiefs, chargers, texans

We also got to play an inconsistent Denver team and the Jets aren't so great either. It is what it is, but I just reserve my stamp of greatness until we start beating good teams consistently.

Still thrilled we are where we are though.

We really did luck out playing the AFC and NFC West teams. So far this season we are 6-1 against the West teams and we are about to beat the Chiefs. This is a great schedule for a rebuilding team to have.

All 4 division teams play similar scheds, if you win the division you earned it.

How can a team luck out when the schedule rotates every year? These teams that were poor this year stink and they stink because they didn't win many games.

The Dolphins don't stink because they've won those games. Winning teams win games. It's a simple process

Basing anything on next year is pointless so no, there is no perspective here

My point was that it is a possibility not a certainty. Of course you wouldn't want to actually pay attention to intent.

I hate the easy schedule talk. Do you realize in the history of the NFL how often average/bad teams played an easy schedule and yet still managed to put together a losing season? Thats because they aren't good football teams.

So, when a team has a losing season they suck regardless of who they played but if you have a winning season....the schedule you played can be scrutinized? I dont care who you play, winning games is winning games. And if you are winning 9+ games in a given NFL season, then you are at LEAST a pretty good football team.
