Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens and SS Ed Reed have agreed to terms on a six-year contract extension that will make him the NFL's highest paid safety, according to team officials. Terms of the deal were not available, but Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome confirmed the deal Tuesday, June 27. Reed will make anywhere between $15-$16 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source.

Ed is class personified-we went to the Ravens Spring Football Festival, and he autographed the kid's jersey, which of course, he will no longer wear. I have to mount it in a frame and get him a new one! Here's a pic I got of him as he was walking out to address the crowd:

Ed Reed is a beast. He is one of the best younger, dynamic defensive players in the game. And any defense would love to have this guy on the team. Heck any team would build their defense around this guy. He's a game breaker.
