I'm back in Florida BABY!
I think this week a big edge, not sure if it's a game decider but it's surely and edge is that the Jet's O-Coordinator was of course with Tennessee before. I'm sure Saban and Linehan will be picking Kevin Carter and Lance Schulters brains about play calling, terminology, o-line sets, and so forth. While i'm sure some of these things can be tweaked, most of it usually stays the same. So hopefully they do get with Carter and Schulters.

Now to Carolina.

I think along with the Heat that will hopefully still be around come game time our other big advantage against Carolina will be the fact that the Patriots themselves are playing Carolina this week. Bellicheck this week and Saban next. Now I know alot of us don't want to compare the two, but there is no denying that in Bill's words himself, alot of what he does defensively comes from discussions he's had with Saban. So, if what New England does is successful, I think you can see alot of the same when we play them, with a few tweaks and disguises in there somewhere to jazz it up.. if what New England does isn't as effective, then Nick can watch and make some changes and corrections for our own D.

Well...The CAR edge could go either way...If it's true that we're similar to NE then CAR can plan for us based upon what they saw from NE.

both are good points, but the bottom line is the players still must execute.

Don't count on the heat being a factor against Carolina. I live in Charlotte and it's hot here during training camp. Not only that, but Carolina practices in Spartanburg, SC which is just as hot as it is in Charlotte and typically even more humid. This is NORTH Carolina. But don't mistake it as being up north. It's been in the mid to upper 90's pretty consistently here all summer and is back up there today and tomorrow. So scratch heat off the list of advantages. However, I think we match up really well with Carolina. Our biggest concern needs to be Steve Smith. The guy is unreal fast and very quick and if we give Delhomme time, he and Smith could have a big day.

AS for the Jets, I personally think we're going to beat the hell out of them. But I'll hold my prediction until the "prediction" thread is up.

i think its a valid point against the jets, carter and shulters would have seen a lot of the different things hiemerdinger?s done in tenn that im sure hes brought over to NY... as for carolina though i know they are used to some heat as well, and dont know how the belicheck game before our game will factor in, i mean anytime we play any opponent we check the film to see how their previous opponents were able to be successful, the fact that its NE i dont think will be a big difference...

The real edge against Carolina is that Kris Jenkins is out for the year. He would've eaten Seth McKinney's lunch.

True enough about the heat, but not the humidity..I lived in Ft. Laud all my life until 4 years ago when I had to move to Char...there is no comparing the heat...in the evening it cools down here...not in SF...sorry...it'll still be a concern...not as much a difference as for Denver, tho...either way, I don't see where many teams think of the weather as an excuse...

The humidity isn't the same YEAR ROUND but 90 to 100% humidity is the same no matter where you are. It might not be quite as common, but it is common enough here that it shouldn't be a factor or an excuse for the Panthers.

The title of this thread is misleading, I figured it was about Fantasy football talking about Edgerrin James vs the Jets and Panthers
