I really havent seen to much of Drew Brees play. I know he has the best RB in the game in LT and he has the best TE in Gates. Do these players allow more credit to go to Brees than is deserved. LT caught over 100 passes 2 years ago which is amazing for a RB. I just wonder if all the credit he is getting is because of him or others around him. Any Charger fans or anybody that has watched alot of Brees what do you think of him?

somebody had to be throwing the passes to LT and Gates for them to get those totals.

these are the recent comments from the starting Pro Bowl RB and Pro Bowl FB when asked about Brees becoming a FA, they seemed to like Brees.

Tomlinson spoke of the possibility of Rivers being the Chargers' quarterback only after expressing his disbelief that Brees could leave.

Tomlinson and Brees were drafted the same year, bonded personally and professionally and have taken great pride in turning around the franchise.

“It's tough to even think of Drew not being here,” Tomlinson said. “I guess my mind hasn't really grasped that possibility.”

Fullback Lorenzo Neal would not address what has not yet happened. But he made clear his feelings in his profuse praise of the incumbent.

“Drew Brees in his career will be MVP of this league,” Neal said. “He will win a Super Bowl. I hope it's with San Diego.”

He's a gritty type of QB who maximizes his average physical abilities. He's not a top ten type of QB but rather probably somewhere middle of the road type (11-15). He takes risks sometimes and has a tendency to occasionally go through spells where his passes sail. He has a good positive personality which translates to making his teammates like playing for him (an uderappreciated trait). I would say that a QB like Brees can win SuperBowls on the right team but isnt the type that can win games by himself.

i think we have the weapens that he can do the same down here.

I disagree, but everyone has a right to their own opinion. Against the Eagles where San Diego lost due the blocked field goal, LT and Neal rushed for a total of only 12 yards, yet Brees put us in a position to win. I think Brees was unfairly blamed for the 9-7 season (we did lose 5 games by a total of 14 points), but considering that Brees put up the numbers he did with only one offensive linemen healthy enough to play the entire season, I think Brees did a remarkable job. Look at who his line was, the highest drafted was a 3rd round pick, the others were 6th and 7th round plus UFAs.

we have weapons too that equal SD. Im just worried about the shoulder

I couldn't have said it any better. You are right on with your assessment. Now the Dolphins front office has to decide if he is the right fit for this team in order to win the Super Bowl. I'm not so sure he is the right guy, or maybe I feel that there are still too many pieces missing on this team for Brees to be the guy that puts them over the top.

from what i've seen from Brees, hhe has great composure and great 4th quarter intangibles. He's not a hall of famer, but i definitely think he's better than middle of the road QB.

personally, i don't think it matters who starts in SD, they will never get anywhere with "Marty Ball"... i think you know what i'm talking about.... the "put ourselves in a good position not to lose..." He and Wanny must be amigos.

I think that we have the talent to complement brees i think that brown will be a great receiver for brees and mcmichael is awsome. So if brees can get comfortable here i think that he could be good. But that is if he can get comfortable, i don't know if it was just because he was new to the league but it took him a little while to get going in san diego and i can see that happen here to if he comes.

man i was pissed when we passed up drafting him to draft flecther i mean what a bust dw sucked at drafting im glad we have a real coach now....

brees is not good he just had a lot of talent around him.
his sholuder could be a promblem.
i don't think that he will fit well with the dolphins

brees does not fit this offense. I like him but he is not the type of quarterback who can change a game for you. His strongest point is game management. If you were down by 5 in the fourth quarter id rather have Frerotte in the game, because he has a stronger arm. Brees arm is weak, and now its not certain that it will even be what it was last year. Dont get me wrong, I like Drew Brees, I would want him if we cant get Daunte, but we would have to change our offense to accomodate him. Chambers would not be streaking down the field for deep balls, We wouldnt need Owens because Brees wouldnt be able to hit him deep.
Culpepper is one of the best deep threat qbs in the league, and one of the best scrambling qbs. If he is going to recover from his injury, which saban will know, not us, then he is the perfect fit for this offense

The main conern with Brees is his arm injury, not his skill or ability to gel with our offense. Although Cullpepper will likely miss the start of the season, it's tough to come back from the type of injury Brees has suffered. (We all know what happened to Pennington) Culpepper would add the perfect element of QB moblity that the Phins have always lacked....unless you consider Fiedler a scrambler which I don't.
