Edwards, Beck headed down different paths

i saw that.

looks like we were gonna take trent edwards at #40 if beck was off the board. edwards looked pretty good yesterday in game action.

also seems per marvez that beck is on the trading block right now.
 
Well nice knowing beck too bad it couldnt have been what they hoped. He wil land somewhere in the NFL. I just say good luck to him for whatever may come.
 
The key issue between Beck and Edwards for me was when they both lined up last season.

Edwards was far more productive. Beck was mince.

I hoped above all hope that Beck was our guy last season and i wanted him to get his chance. After seeing him and his numbers last year and reading the camp reports and his 1 quarter of action last week, he's not all that.

I would still cut McCown though, at least Beck still has the possibility of an upside. I say possibility in a loose term though.

OMG WE SHOULD OF TAKEN BRADY QUINNN! Noo! Whatever people Sh*t happens Lets just hope Henne is our QB of the future cause im sick of wasting draft picks on a damn QB!
 
The team will keep McCown because he has more experience. To be honest, I wouldn't trust Beck any longer in a game situation. It doesn't sound like the team does either. If Beck wants to be on the team he's got to earn it. And not how people jump all over 1 camp report and say "See.. he's doing well". Beck IMO will have to have to play sensational to make this team. And likely will have a tough time no matter where he goes.

Maybe your right.

One thing is for sure though, we're far better off at QB this season than last year!

Until Quinn threw an INT. Then we should have cut him.

The problem with that approach is that the front office can't possibly thinking about winning anything this year. McCown has no place on this team now and will never have any trade value. He has six years in the league. Everybody knows what he can do. Beck may not be ready to play now, but any rational person would agree that it is too early to make a determination about Beck.

Let me give you an scenario. Let's say Pennington misses two games in the middle of the season. The FO decides to not play Henne. Instead they put in the other QB on the roster and they play pretty well.

If that player is McCown, would that be enough to change the league-wide perception that he is a below average QB prospect? Probably not. There is too much evidence to the contrary.

Now if that player is Beck, IMO, the league-wide perception of him could change dramatically. He has so little history that just a couple of good games could make people forget his terrible rookie season.

I just don't see how McCown will ever be anything of value to the Fins.
 
my dream draft that year would have been tedd ginn /patrick willis in the first and i was praying we were gonna get trent edwards in the 2nd but im such a fin fan that once we got beck i started telling myself that beck was better.thats the attitude i have that if we draft u im gonna be a fan of u regardles.i will stop being a fan if u get cut traded or if your a veteran and u didnt pan out. people will never hear me talk bad about a young dolphin player and that should be the way u all think
 
Put Edwards on our team last year, do you really think the outcome would be different. Edwards had some time with the 1st O through T/C and the season. He didn't have to run the scout team, get a week with the #1 Off., and then start against Philli on the road. You can't just take a guys stats from another team and plug them into our team last year.

I plugged in Tom Brady and omfg Camarillo and Ginn had over 1000 yards a piece.

/Madden counts right?
