I noticed my computer was slow and not working out. Looks like it was because I had a picture of Egnew in a folder. Deleted it and now it's working great.

Haha, unprovoked Egnew attack!

Anyway, is there any info on how he is doing? Will he be here at the start of the season?

He's on the bubble like a lot of TE's. being hurt has not helped his cause. I thought he'd be cut last year and he slipped through. Even became a decent blocking FB later in the season which is really odd for his body type. If I had to decide today I would say he will be cut. But as I said I was wrong last year and I admit it. He had 7 receptions for 69 yards, so I guess the Dolphins know best.

I guess Hickey needs to weigh the amount of training we put into him vs. what he can give us.

I still say it's hard to judge a receiving tight end, who's not a great blocker, if you've only thrown him 12 passes and he's caught 9. I think if the Saints only attemted to throw Jimmy Graham 6 passes a year he wouldn't look to hot either. I'm not saying Egnew is as good as Graham, just saying if you marry a woman based on her looks don't bring her home and only judge her on her cooking ability.

I think Egnew started out in Sherman's dog house and it stunted his growth. Lets see if Lazor represents a new start. If he doesn't look good let him sign with the Patriots, he might look good opposite Gronk.

With Gator Hoskins hurt Egnew still has a chance.
Though Bracket is making a case why he should be on the 53.

With Dion Sims flashing in training camp there probably won't be much playing time for Egnew. I don't think at this point they cut Arthur Lynch for Egnew, so unless they plan on keeping 4 TEs there won't be a roster spot available for him.

No doubt in my mind that they'll keep four.

I could see keeping three, Clay, Sims and Arthur and having Hoskins on the practice squad. If you go with four tight ends I would guess that only three would actually suit up on Sunday.

We haven't heard about Egnew much since he sustained a concussion. I'm not sure if that it the reason, or if its because he sucks. Probably both imo.

There is a term in fishing that describes Egnew "cut bait".

In finance we use the term "sunk cost"

Did anyone notice that Joe Philbin went out of his way to rave about Dion Sims at the press conference the other day. He commented on Brett Brackett and even Kyle Miller, but he said nothing about the elephant in the room, Michael Egnew. Like some others on here (eg MartintheSnake), I have lived in hope for the past 2+ years of seeing the big fella improve and make a contribution, but we've seen precious little of the alleged great hands, to date. If there was any real hope, Lazor would be the guy to come up with something creative. My read of the tea-leaves is that Lazor has probably said "enough!" and his days are numbered.
Bill Belichick has probably scheduled the Egnew waterboarding timeslot for 2 days after he's cut. I will have nightmares if BB is able to coach Michael into the next Aaron Hernandez in Foxboro. Although there appears to be a slight difference in their personalities.

Well this is the first year without Ireland....meaning we wont be keeping someone just because Ireland drafted them. Hickey has no loyalty towards Irelands picks.

I don't know man, I don't see it happening. Egnew doesn't have that "killer mentality" that BB is looking for!
