I know that BP has brought in Rayner to compete with Feeley but it looks like Jason Elam is a FA and might not be back in Denver. If we dont have faith in Feeley, why not bring in one of the best/consistent kickers of all time?

Will Elam leave Broncos?

After a series of contract proposals were exchanged this week, the Broncos and kicker Jason Elam have decided to at least temporarily part ways Elam will visit the Falcons next week. There's a good chance Elam will know Thursday night where he will be employed in 2008.

The Broncos have a three-year offer on the table for free agent Jason Elam.

Seems generous for a 38-year-old kicker, although they're not offering much guaranteed money after 2008. Elam will visit with the Falcons Wednesday.

UPDATE

The Falcons will enter negotiations with free agent K Jason Elam on Thursday.

Denver has on the table a three-year deal in the $7.5 million vicinity, but it is backloaded. Atlanta may need to guarantee more money to lock Elam up.

He's getting old, and he kicks in Denver, which is very easy becuase of the air there.

Falcons agreed to terms with K Jason Elam on a four-year, $9 million contract, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter. The deal includes $3.3 million guaranteed and ensures that Morten Andersen won't be back for another year. Elam, 38, spent his entire career to this point in Denver. He'll be kicking in a dome now, but has lost some of his range and will be part of what projects to be a well below average offense.

Look at the post above yours:up::D:)

:sidelol:

Alot of peope are calling the sports radio stations here in Colorado wondering why they let Elam go. Elam has been the most consistent kicker they have ever had. They have been making some really questionable personnel moves....they brought in Sauerbrun to punt for them and he kept having off the field issues. I think Shannihan is starting to lose it as a coach.....they also just fired Sundquist their GM, even though Shannihan has the final say over personnel. I see another 7-9 season for the Donkeys or worse.

what reason did Jay Feely give us to not have faith in him? Except his inability to kick the ball deep on kickoffs, which we solved when we brought in the booming leg of Dave Raynor. Phins wont look at another kicker, especially an over the hill one like Elam.
